Bulls/Celtics series is insane. Pierce's 360 shot last night was
. Funny thing is that it wouldn't be nearly as good if the Celtics were completely healthy.
I didn't get to watch the Rockets/Blazers game last night, but I wasn't surprised that the Blazers won. They really sacked up when they were 4 down late in the game, I really respect how gritty they are. The series is still over Blazers fans, and no, the pressure is on your team not the Rockets.

a note on TNT playoff commercials:
is Sprite endorsing young people committing suicide, as long it's done by two youths slamming into each other and exploding into liquid? what's so refreshing about non-existence?
also this new Popeye's spokeswoman is annoying as shit. shut up, lady. you dont even know me, and therefore have no idea what chicken i can resist and what chicken i cant. this ad is the worst.

it was an estimation, estimations work best with numbers not vague phrases sorry you hate numbers so muchnaturalborn103 wrote:1 in 50 huh? its close, no intent but well intent isn't everything and he did hit him in the face, its technically a flagrant that might not get called given game situation, if it was in the 3rd quarter of a reg season game I think he gets a flagrant calledalso i dont understand why there is even discussion about that rondo foul. it was a basketball play. no wind up. so what if miller bleeds easy. its not a flagrant.

do you know what the definition of a flagrant foul is? that was unnecessary and excessive (hitting him in the face with no intention of getting the ball or even more accurately, complete knowledge that he wouldn't get close to the ball at all)djjeffresh wrote:also i dont understand why there is even discussion about that rondo foul. it was a basketball play. no wind up. so what if miller bleeds easy. its not a flagrant.
rondo even admitted as much
"brad miller is 296 pounds. (the rest i'm paraphrasing) i had do whatever it took so he couldn't get off a good shot, i'm a little guy"
he open-fist slammed him in the face. he did not go for the ball at all, and the ball was an entire brad miller arm length away from rondo whose FULL extension got him brad's face.
it was a flagrant. that said, i am not upset or care much ONE bit that it didn't get called. i, for one, do believe foul calls should be handled differently in the waning moments of a game
i also don't sympathize b/c miller still should've manned up and made his free throws and he's a faggot just like peja for refusing to play for the pacers

This is pretty much my stance. I guess the only problem is it sets a bad precedent i.e. you might as well smack somebody in the face if it means winning the game and take the chance that the refs won't call a technical.Reason wrote:it was a flagrant. that said, i am not upset or care much ONE bit that it didn't get called. i, for one, do believe foul calls should be handled differently in the waning moments of a game

he fouled him. sure. did he make a play on the ball? no. he fouled the guy hard in the final seconds of the game. was it excessive or unnecessary? that's where the argument lies. it wasnt a punch. and like stu jackson said, they were looking at "wind up and follow through" and therefore ruled against a flagrant. this is the correct ruling in my mind. it was a hard foul. boom.
im surprised that barkley disagrees.

He had a bad knee but he was getting banged up all game. He took a couple nasty falls as well.eternalreflection wrote:they are talking about Paul being hurt, did that happen tonight? I haven't really paid attention to the game
if so get him out of the game, its over and well no reason to potentially get him really hurt
The Nuggets have really designed a nice blueprint for shutting down Paul - show hard on him when he gets to the top of the key, cut off his driving lanes even if it means leaving other guys open, and rough him up a little.

gotcha, yeah they did an incredible job on him, he had a ton of TOs and shot just 41% from the fieldMoney Gripp wrote:He had a bad knee but he was getting banged up all game. in the regular season matchups he faired much better, a lot of TOs but still very effective, might just be a bad 5game stretch from him

He might of had a better chance too if he didn't for a finger roll.. like stated above he is 296 pounds, go up hard!!!Reason wrote:do you know what the definition of a flagrant foul is? that was unnecessary and excessive (hitting him in the face with no intention of getting the ball or even more accurately, complete knowledge that he wouldn't get close to the ball at all)djjeffresh wrote:also i dont understand why there is even discussion about that rondo foul. it was a basketball play. no wind up. so what if miller bleeds easy. its not a flagrant.

I thought you have to make a play on the ball in order for it to be considered a "basketball play." Clearly he didn't make an attempt to block the shot or even slap his arm because the pathetic finger-roll had the ball so far out ahead of where Rondo was he couldn't possibly have made a play on the ball. So like he said, he did whatever he could to stop the play, which included smacking him in the face and pulling his head back. Ergo, it was a flagrant foul.
Is there any doubt that NBA officiating is by far the worst of the major sports? Why is the league so fucking arrogant and smug about this aspect of their game? It annoys me to no end. Stop pretending like your league is perfect and train these motherfuckers the right way. This bullshit has got to stop.
Also, does anyone really believe this series is over tonight? It just has to go to Game 7, it's in the cards.

While by definition that could be called a flagrant, are you really going to tell me they should of made that call?? He should of went up hard.. The other game when it went into OT Miller grabbed Allen from behind and literally threw him on the ground at the end of regulation with no call... Also, I just want to know from a Chicago fan view, do you think those last two fouls on Ray Allen where good calls?stupidregister wrote:I thought you have to make a play on the ball in order for it to be considered a "basketball play." Personally I think if Miller would have fallen a little different or played it up, he woulda got the call simply because the refs are fucking numbnuts. If it was a big guy hitting a little guy the same way, there's no doubt it woulda got called and if they were in Chicago, it probably woulda got called too. I think it was borderline but I don't think there's any way you can said he made a play on the ball, that's why I think based on the rules it shoulda been called. It all happened too fast for him to attempt to block him, Miller was already way past him, the only thing he could do was wack him.naturalborn103 wrote:While by definition that could be called a flagrant, are you really going to tell me they should of made that call?? I think the Tony Allen call on Gordon's 3 was wrong and if you read my posts earlier, I stated that the calls against Ray were horrible.
