Kirby's style was unique.

Before him, comic characters were square jawed squares living in lily white, almost entirely flat universes.

He infused comics with depth, action, technology, space-age themes and psychedelic imagery.

It was the Marvel style that made comics relevant again in the 60s and Kirby WAS/IS the Marvel style.

The characters and costumes he designed are some of the best, most enduring ones in the entire industry.

The way he drew energy, machines, weapons, etc was cool as shit and completely pulled from thin air.

His style was one of the main influences on the fundamental elements of graffiti art.

His influences can be seen in almost everyone that has worked after him and although he is the most imitated comic artist of all time, no one has been able to duplicate his style.

I also really like Wally Wood and Jim Steranko.

thats whats up, only one other dude i've ever asked was able to give a decent reason. i still dont like kirby's actual art much, but all his tech shit was dope.
