I thought it was fairly officiated. The only instance I did notice was when the German player dived in the box and didn't get carded for it when an Argentinian was carded for the same thing on a much more sinister looking challenge earlier.
I thought the Germans played better overall and deserved to win it.
at Klose having 5 goals in each of the last two World Cups.

Did you see how tired the guys were at the end of overtime? Ballack was cramping up and everyone was gassed. (You have to give Ballack credit for netting his penalty)
At some point you just have to say ok that's it. You risk injuring the player as well.
wow.. england shit that one away.. the portugal keeper read all those shots.. kinda like lehmen yesterday.. crazy games.. the big one is on in hour and 15.. you will watch.
the face of that kid in the bar at wimbledon they kept showing was priceless.
how the fuck do you get a straight red card for pushing a player away who deliberately ran infront of you to slander you to the referee?
there was no elbowing, no use of the foot, no nothing, just a simple push. Players push each other all the time during games, fuck that ref. Even as a staunch MUFC fan im starting to really dislike Ronaldo to the point that i wouldnt care if he got transferred to Madrid after the cup.
4-5-1 is a ridiculous system, which we yet again showed. Crouch would be passed the ball, would have no support, so would have to dribble AWAY from the attacking goal. What's the point?
Aaron Lennon was yet again the most impressive player on the field. Why he played so few minutes in this tournament is a mystery.
Lampard: 2 missed penalties, 10,000 missed shots.

I disagree. It wasn't the pushing, if I remember correctly, it was the kicking dude in the balls. I thought, if the ref saw that, then it was warranted.

The better team lost today. England should have beaten Portugal. They had more chances and outplayed the Portuguese with only 10 men.
A pretty weak red card to give to Rooney in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, probably deserved a yellow for that. I'm still not sure what was wrong with Beckham that he couldn't play. He was walking around on the sidelines pretty easily it seemed. Better be a major injury.
The Portuguese keeper was awesome during the kicks, gotta give him credit. Too bad Carragher didn't wait for the whistle.
England never played up to its potential the entire cup. I've never seen someone with as many chances as Lampard fail to finish a single one. Dude couldn't even convert a PK.

he got sent off for kicking him in the balls, not for the push.
EDIT: homiedontplaydat beat me to it.
I'm not sure about that. It's not like the ref started pulling the card immediately. It seemed like he wasn't going to do anything until the push. I'm not sure he saw the kick in the balls.

you're referring to the alleged stamp right?
they replayed it at least 6 times on TV here and it looked like he was trying to gain his footing, not stamp. Gary Bloom (who was doing the commentary here) seemed positive that the ref had awarded the foul and wasnt going to discipline Rooney till the shove occured.
maybe that was him being bias towards England, but id have to say i agree
I think it's obvious that the leaving off of Shaun Wright-Phillips and especially Jermaine Defoe was a big mistake. England got basically no production at all from their forwards and they played so passively the entire cup. Even though Owen wasn't playing well, his absence was a big deal. And quite frankly, England should have been prepared for the fact that they would lose either Owen or Rooney with the possiblity that they would get reinjured. Instead of Defoe, they decided to bring on Theo Walcott whom I'm sure no one truly believed would ever see the pitch.
Still, England did well to hold on and had a chance despite missing several chances and whatnot.
Almost the second Aaron Lennon got on the field, the English attack improved.
Beckham gets a lot of heat but he played well this cup.
Lampard looked like a lost child when he went to shoot.
Disappointing if you're a fan of England or even of football. I'm tired of seeing teams with talent play passively and not look to attack. It's like the striking out in the bottom of the ninth without even taking a swing. I'm a fan of the way Jurgen Klinsmann manages. You gotta take chances to score and every team controls their own destiny so play to win.
France looks infinitely better than they did earlier in the tournament.
Rooney didn't get the red card for stepping on the dude. He got the red card for pushing Ronaldo. He stepped on the dudes nuts on accident. He was falling over and lost his balance and he stepped back. It just happened to be on the dude's nuts. That was a weak call by that referee.
Portugal is right up there with Italy as a bunch of actors who take falls. The should have got a couple cards for taking falls during that game.

He sucks at life. If he walked past me in the street right now I'd spit right in his cheating face. I cant wait to see him at Spurs next season. He might as well fuck off to Madrid, nobody in the Prem wants to see his face again.
I mean how many times has this bitch cried during the World Cup?
