I think all the episodes will be great, I think it's a disgrace that more people don't watch the show, and yes I want it to move to another network. Right after the first show aired I decided I needed three full seasons, ie around 60-70 episodes. I won't be satisfied until there's like another ten at least.

it's all on mitch herwits if he wants to continue with the show or not. Showtimes 2 year offer is based on mitch remaining with the show. I hope it continues. I can't hate on fox though. The show has had shitty rating for 3 years, they can only keep a failing show on the air for so long. I'm just glad it made it to a second season.
Has it fallen off? no way, that episode with the japanease investors and the mole fighting george michael in his jet pack suit was great. It's been a great season. it was a little out of funk early on because they were trying to change something to attract new viewers, but now it's back on track.
The thing with the show is, most of the comedy is based on earlier episodes. Also it's very faced paced. It doesn't wait for the audience to get the jokes. But thats what makes it great for multiple viewings.

Below is an article from E! Online about the future of Arrested Development. If you don't feel like reading it, the gist is this: on the table is a 13 episode deal from ABC and a 13 episode-a-year deal for two years from Showtime. The ball is firmly in Mitch Hurwitz's court and he has until June 15th to decide what to do. He is going to be on NPR today at noon, and there are rumors he might address the situation on there.
http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Kristin/A ... 60210.htmlKristin from E! Online wrote:It can't be over, can it?
These are the words we Arrested Development fans have been saying--no, chanting--to ourselves over the past few months, as we've rocked back and forth in the fetal position, breathed into paper bags and contemplated canceling our cable or, better yet, egging Fox prez Peter Liguori's house.
We who love this show don't just watch it, we obsess over it, which is what makes the uncertain fate of Arrested, as its two-hour finale airs tonight (yes tonight!), so very hard to stomach.
That said, you might wanna sit down (or take some Maalox) before reading the following advice: You must watch the finale tonight on Fox, because, barring all miracles, it definitely will be its last Fox airing advertisment (Liguori has so much as said so), and at the moment, it's hardly certain it will wind up anywhere else. A source deep, deep (like, Anyoung-in-the-walls deep) inside Arrested tells me: "It's 20 percent that it'll come back [on another network]...and 80 percent that it won't."
And that's not for lack of options. After speaking with various reliable sources connected with the show, I can tell you that creator and exec producer Mitch Hurwitz is currently contemplating pickup deals from two networks. ABC has offered a 13-episode season to air on Thursday nights this fall. And an offer from Showtime is for 12 episodes a year for two years, with the option of a third.
By all accounts, Showtime is the more attractive offer, given that it would relieve the ratings pressure that has plagued the show from day one and also allow the cast to work on other projects nine months out of the year. However, for the writers and producers, it would be a similar amount of heavy lifting (especially for Hurwitz, who spearheads each episode from start to finish--'cause, let's face it, you can't delegate genius) for a network that might not have the budget to offer quite so much in return.
So, Hurwitz is...hesitant. That's what I'm told. Although I'm sure he loves Arrested like a firstborn child (as do we), he must decide whether it's worth it to uproot the show, transplant it to another network and continue to pour his blood, sweat and tears into something that, let's face it, the American viewing public has yet to embrace on a large scale.
That said (and not to be selfish), this die-hard fan can't help but scream: Screw the public at large! We Arrested aficionados still worship this amazing show. And from where I'm sitting, Arrested wouldn't just survive on Showtime, it would thrive in the cable environment--not to mention make a stellar block of programming with the also critically acclaimed Weeds.
Anyway, bottom line, I'm told Hurwitz has until June 15 to make his decision. So, we will have to do what we hate most--wait and see. And perhaps search for Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, so we can bear-hug it out for a proper goodbye. (On the off chance you can't find them, you can get their final thoughts in the video clips on this page.)
In the meantime, we should all enjoy every moment of the finale's two hours--with Justine Bateman, William Hung, Judge Reinhold and, I'm told, a very poignant final "On the Next Arrested Development." 'Cause if Fox is going to bitchslap the show with a finale airing opposite the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, we gotta bitchslap 'em right back by actually watching.

I hate it, cuz when I do break it out only one person knows whats going on.
its a fucking travesty!!
I also like throwing out "douchechiiiiilll" - Tobias said it a bunch of times in this episode in the 1st Season.
I'm definitely pre-gaming to AD tonight.
I'll also probably watch a shit ton of episodes today after class.
yeah...but.....that's pretty much Fox's fault.still illiterate wrote:I can't hate on fox though. The show has had shitty rating for 3 years, they can only keep a failing show on the air for so long.
Constantly changing time slots, purposely airing the show against other HUGE TV events (aka the Olympics opening ceremony for tonight's finale).
Sometimes they would air the show one week, and it would be gone the next week for NO reason at all. Replaced by Simpsons reruns or something. It was never consistently on.

If they end up on showtime they shoud still keep it like it is, with curses bleeped, etc. Otherwise it'll be a different kind of humor
Although I'd love to hear Gob's sexual harrasment speech unedited. That and the Fuck Mountain presentation

You absolutely should blame fox for the reasons mentioned above. Seinfeld didn't get ratings until season 4 but NBC stayed with it and it became the most popular sitcom of our generation. Quirky brilliant shows like these take time to catch on and while Fox did stick with it for 2 and a half seasons they moved it to much for it to ever gain any mommentum.Andvil wrote:yeah...but.....that's pretty much Fox's fault.still illiterate wrote:I can't hate on fox though. Fuck fox.
Regarding falling off , fuck no. I've been rewatching season 3 this week and I have been laughing my ass off. So many jokes you always find something new.

the most fucked up part about this is that fox is supposed to be the 'experimental' network that pushes the envelop. Xfiles, Simpsons, Married with children all started rough and were given years to develop. Compare this to futurama and AD, which were on the chopping block half way through season 1

I love the show, but since it got moved to mondays, I've only seen one.
Noetheless, I watch the dvd's of seasons 1 and 2 all the time.
As much as I'd like to blame fox for this, they have given it a fair shake. Moreso that previous shows (Andy Richter, The Tick, The Job) but ultimately I think the problem with the show is the very reason that most people love it: it's fast, it's smart and creative. The problem is that if you haven't been watching from the get go, you won't understand anything and most likely won't want to put in the effort to try. When I made my girlfriend watch the odd show with me she didn't understand what I saw in it. Once she got to see it all from the beginning, she fell in love with it.
I hope it stays, but I think it was too funny for its own good
michael: Gob, get rid of the Seaward!
Lucille: I'll leave when I'm good and ready

the return of Franklin!!! and he was wearing a "george bush doesn't care about black people" tshirt.
George Michael: "I got you a wedding ring...tone" - when maybe's cell starts playing "here comes the bride"
the William Hung Jury Band
ehh fuck it... there was so much last night that had me laughing my ass off. but I can't recall exact quotes.
best thing Fox ever did... which is now followed by the worst.

all the episodes were funny
gob recording the doctor talking and playing it back to michael was totally hilarious. still moving his lips, ahahahahahah
oohhh excuuuse me Judge Reinhold
damn so many laughs packed into those 4 eps, it was insane.
And they really tied up a lot of loose ends, at least in the main story arc, so if somehow they are picked up by another network everything's goin to be very different. That "series" finale was so great I wouldn't mind if that was really the end..
..fuck it, I definitely wanna see more AD but that was a damn good way to go out.
