Fuck this guy (pause); he's such an overrated, White Guilt-afflicted, rich, entitled fart-sniffer who critics will forever Dick Suck because of "The Wire."
"Treme" is one of the worst series HBO has ever aired; "Generation Kill" is a fucking war crime itself (I challenge anyone to watch that shit now and tell me it holds up).
awful article. won't watch the show. David Simon is pissed because he's a millionaire who wrote 5 amazing seasons of a show and that's apparently all he's got in the tank and everyone in the universe knows it and yet he goes on and fails at being the Michael Jackson of hbo writers and he's just super pissed that his run is over so he apparently intentionally writes garbage unaware of how to corralle his own authorship. Peace.
that theme music could potentially be once again: fucking great
good thing dude kept to a six episode mini series
may watch sometime somewhere but ultimately show will probably not live up to any sort of workable standard of excellence and thats fine but stupidreg nailed that shit
I'm diggin it. I think the pace makes it interesting. Individually scenes may be boring but as a whole, I think it's great. I wasn't familiar w/ the story and have avoided googling it but it's looking to be a dark 3rd act.
Treme was so terrible that I will never have high expectations for anything simon related moving forward again. I'll check this out, but I don't have high hopes for it.
It's better than Treme. But the scenes involving the characters in the projects are a little are This show is interesting because it seems to be on the side, that low income housing is a good thing. But then it goes to great lengths to show minorities fucking up their lives in ways that seems to make the racist white folks seem almost justified. I grew up on the east side of Detroit. My family was the only white family in a several block radius. Shit was fucked up. And just got worse as I got older. Most of my friends from back then actually are dead or in jail. Eventually we we moved to the near by suburbs. At that time that, it was like %90 white, stuck up, racist entitled fucks. But the whole place looked nice and there wasn't much crime. Then section 8 housing came along. Now its looking like Detroit. I'm liking Show Me A Hero because it seems to point out that there is no way to win. Either live in the pretty close to fascist, but clean and safe, white suburbia. Or the crime and poverty of a well integrated neighborhood. I think this also raises the question, can black people ever truly recover from the trauma of hundreds of years of slavery?
I've only watched the first two, but loved em. Oscar Isaac just continues to kill it. I just love how they're showing that these are New York liberals who were up in arms about the shit. I've felt for a long time that a large percentage of liberals, especially aging liberals, are far more socially conservative than they realize. Everyone's created equal till black people affect your bottom line by merely existing in your neighborhood.
It seems a major problem affecting poor people of all races is that women tend to make terrible choices for who fathers their children. How long will they dupe themselves into thinking the drug dealer, or the kid who already has a son, are good choices? Ladies of low income neighborhoods, look to the nerds! They are your way out!
