Mobb Deep, really? I remember it getting a good reception here and it's far and away their best album since Murda Muzik. You'd have to be a lunatic to have had expectations for that album that weren't met or exceeded.

Mega Philosophy is great too.

I think most of the buzz Mobb Deep got was from the bonus disc that featured all of those Infamous demos. Mega Philosophy really was met with a lot of mixed reviews. Lots of napping taking place on this album.

I take it you didn't like that G&E album, did you? I gotta agree with Combo, I thought Mega Philosophy was dope.

The Carter V hasn't even come out yet and probably won't drop this year now anyway!

Gotta be 10 Summers here. The current producer du-jour dropped a complete dud aside from 4 Digits and the 2 interludes with Ty$ and Tinashe.

Mobb Deep was great.
The Roots was the worst for me. Sad to see one of the most insanely consistent rap groups of all time drop an album where I literally don't like a single song. Other than the Elvis Costello album, they've been on a terrible downhill slide since they joined Fallon's show.

The Roots for me too. When Black Thought only appears on 2 tracks, you know you're in for a big disappointment. Wu and the others I never had any high expectations for. But on the real, that Diamond D album was beyond atrocious.

You know, I remember hearing that Mustard album and not being into it too much. Voted.
No one liked that Neon iCON, eh?

DJ Mustard. I love his production and he dropped some great loosies but the album was just not good.

NehruvianDOOM ... I guess everybody else already has low expectations for DOOM, but this is the only release of his that I don't dig.

The Roots. That Neruvian Doom was hella dissapointing too. Atrocious garbage.

That was a nice little novelty, but who the fuck other than Jaz or Wicked is going to drive around actually listening to that?

Anyway, voted Roots, as that album ended a 20+ year streak of them making music I liked.

:naswtf: this was by far the biggest draw about the release, most people bought/downloaded it specifically for that. the new music was almost an afterthought.

Yeah almost everyone I know online and off downloaded that for the demos and deleted the new material almost instantly.

 I pre-ordered the album on Pledge Music and listened to the demo disc twice and the album about fifty times and counting.

This was pretty much the year of the disappointing album in my estimation, but that Roots record took it for me too. Not a big fan of the Wu album, but at least it has a few cuts that I will go back to or throw on some Wu mix of some kind. There's nothing redeemable about that Roots album.

I concur; vexing (dare I say enraging?) nomination. Nor do I understand Cormega's inclusion.

NehruvianDOOM was somewhat disappointing, but it had some dope cuts. Definitely deserves to be on this list. The Dilated album was hella disappointing.
