Dude. He wasn't even mentioned in the article. His mother is a paper gangsta. Liken this to Puffy's sons releasing an album. Even if they don't win, they win.

In a good two week period, he makes as much as you make in a year. It's just reality. Is it fair? Depends on who you ask. But to front like he aint getting bread is silly. You sound jaded.

Capitalism is outta control.

He's right.....lyrical rappers are broke. Might as well tell Nas, Talib, Scareface, Common, and other rappers that are lyrical that they're broke not matter how long they've had their careers and flipped their money in other ways now.

Clearly it's the non-lyrical wonders like Candyman, Lil Zane, Juelz Santana, Khia, and Lil' Scrappy and who will prove to be the true long term moneymakers.

No question homeboy is just talking out the side of his neck. I'm not agreeing with that statement. But to be fair, all the rappers you listed came out before the CD became a near obselete medium.

I was more agreeing with the fact that he is aware of hip hop/rap's current climate. He said he is in no rush to come out with an album, because if it flops, it looks like a loss for him.

I know you're well aware that the budget for a mixtape is peanuts compared to a well recorded, properly mixed, properly promoted and well distributed album. Through mixtapes, he releases new music to his ever growing "fanbase", with little to no cost. This wide exposure, allows him to gain popularity, which allows him to command more per show.

I'm a fan of Hip Hop just as much as the next man. But, I also appreciate the hustle. "Let's do it" comes on in the club, shit gets hype. I've been to at least 7 different states in the last 2 months and they are digging this shit everywhere. Maybe not the hip hop purists, but the common man. Oh yeah and little white girls probably like it too (waddup Thun?).

This dude has little artistic value. He comes out with an "official album", he probably loses. AND HE KNOWS THAT. He's playing his position. B.O.B. is 100x more talented than this dude. But Flocka is more popular, right now. Life aint fair yo.

He's speaking from a general level which I do get. I know exactly where he's coming from. But techncally speaking, there are rappers who are popular that made money that are very lyrical if you think about it. How they get the money......thats a different story (even though we're assuming he just means record sales alone). Now, if he's speaking on the climate of the music game on generating fans for new artists that come out, well, then, thats a different story.

He's smart on the promo tip; or at least his management is handling it right. Putting out the mixtapes to little or no cost. Has the connection with a popular name in the industry at this time. And that has the most to do with it because if he has a association with a popular name, of course, people are going to wonder who he is. Then the promo game for what he can do for himself alone is coming into play. From there, its about the target audience wanting to pay to hear him like that when he drops an album. One thing that can hurt him which is what alot of artists tend do now.....they always make mixtapes better than their albums. No matter if the label couldn't give clearance on releasing a certain track or two; we all know this is reoccuring trend with artists.

I agree with the B.O.B. statement. For him, I feel like his album should've came out already with the buzz he got though.

Juelz is relatively rich, so I wouldn't put him in that class, and is pretty popular to boot. But your point is well taken. His comments were dumb as hell.
