Assassins creed endgame discussion and the games future
****SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY******
do you think well be controlling desmond in the now? i found those sequences to be somehow way smoother gameplay then when in the animus, at least compared to ezios gameplay. and when they give him the hidden blade i was like GYEAH BITCH.
good ending despite a wierd last battle against the pope. i mean what the hell? that guys the pope?
anyway as much as i like that desmond is the main character i think they should do one more historical type game before we get to control desmond himself. i mean, how would the last one play? desmond runs around with a hidden blade and sniper rifle?
what do you guys think?

SPOILERS
yeah fighting the pope was kinda bizarre, The Pope making things gravitate with the staff was even stranger but similar to the first AC endgame. I think its a heavy runner for Game Of The Year . I havent been so consumed, addicted and determined to beat a game like this in a looooooooooong time.
I think the direction for the next installment may take place over various locations in the past due to what u discover in the Tomb with all the different assassin seals.
As far as AC3 goes...check this link

Discussions on the details of Assassin's Creed III were already present before the release of Assassin's Creed II, with the game's staff noting discussions of possibly having a female ancestor in World War II, or the game's setting based in the Middle Ages, involving King Arthur, or feudal Japan.
i feel like various locations would be sweet. if its like 'oh shit, this is happening in real life - lets do this real life stuff' and then its like 'now we need some info so get back in the animus' -- that would be sweet
i dont want to see some ww2 shit though. you know whats wierd, though? is that when the baddies came in at the end they had no guns. it makes sense if they are trying to restrain one or both of the end game characters but at the same time it sets the stage for sparse gun use if the next game is to be set predominantly in modern times.

Do you really feel like this game is headed to WWII? For me, the game is so appealing because of its settings. Crusades and Reanaissance era settings made for an ultra unique experience. Honestly, if it went to WWII, I'd be a little disapointed. I like the idea of feudal Japan. But I like the idea of various settings as well. I think the map in the villa sort of leads to that idea.
if you're implying that they're going to set it during Adam & Eve times, I really can't see them doing that
if that's not what you're implying then I dont know what you're implying
maybe they will split it up into sections of time, like Adam & Eve, then skip to medieval or something, then WWII, then present, then future
ACII was real good though, I had like 2 whole years of Italian Renaissance art history classes, it's one of my favorite periods of history. Obviously it's not 100% faithful, but they did a damn good job researching things and sticking to loose historical fact, if that makes any sense
this, Uncharted 2 and Bioshock are the only games I've got 1000G/Platinum trophies for
did anyone else get ACII for the PS3? There seemed to be a good bit of screen tearing and texture pop-ins on the PS3 version, but it didnt bother me much. I had lots of problems with the game but still really enjoyed it

Nigga Whut! those puzzles and pics had me buggin, I thought I was caught in an History Channel documentary or something. It def added that extra edge to the game for me and I enjoyed breaking down and decyphering every last one of them joints.agent b wrote:did you guys decipher all 20 glyphs and watch the Truth video?
seems to imply the third game will be taking place a long, long time before WWII.
I'd personally wouldnt mind seeing some shit pop off in Ancient Egypt. But That would going back in time instead of coming closer to modern times.
ancient egypt or feudal japan would be DOPE. but it seems like they went through all the trouble of doing that modern shit and training him up - it seems like the next game is going to be huge. like it HAS to be or its going to let all the fans of the series down in a major way. but at the same time....potentially they could like 20 games set in different parts of the world during different eras and get away with it. the story is cool enough and deep enough that they could wind their way through some really sweet shit. like in the next one supposedly they have to stop the apocalypse but then what happens after that? the templars are still around and trying to dominate shit right? or like what about the possibility of the templars infiltrating the assasin combines, like spies and shit - then previously trustworthy people are looked at in new, suspicious ways.
i didnt decipher the encoded shit myself - i found the puzzles to be boring and lacking in continuity with the rest of the game so i didnt do them - but after finishing the game i watched a youtube video of the finished puzzle and....i dont know what you think you were watching agent b but i thought we were watching adam and eve, in the time when the gods/space people (pre-apocalypse #1) had inhabited the earth
it seemed like eve triggers the apocalypse, or something like it when shes all like 'ive got an idea' and the camera zooms in on the apple thing

totally thought the british dude was gonna be a templar, I guess he still could be, I didn't trust that guy at all.ric wrote:what about the possibility of the templars infiltrating the assasin combines, like spies and shit - then previously trustworthy people are looked at in new, suspicious ways
not really keen on the idea of guns coming into play with this series, but feudal japan would be incredible.
The historical settings of I & II's eras have around a 200 year interval, so I would guess we're looking at the 1600's or possibly the 1700's. Keeping in mind the whole Templar plot, I'm guessing Ubisoft would be gunning for something like London, Paris or possibly Washington a la National Treasure to carry on the whole masonic back story in the next chapter.
i was looking up the 17th century on wikipedia and one of the pictures on the page says that the last shogunate in japan was born in the 17th century and lasts into the 19th century - hella templar loving right there.
the dutch-east india trading company is founded
of course there are mad british kings and shit
the ottoman empire is sweet
jamestown virginia is established
the bohemian revolt in europe
manchurians kill ming dynasty
the monarchy is restored to england in the 1660s
in 1690s the bank of england is established
francis bacon, rene descartes, isaac newton, baruch spinoza, thomas hobbes, gottfried leibniz (genius of many disciplines, dude invented calculus while taking a bath among other astonishing achievements)
all are juicy possibilities

Rome is cool, will be interesting to see what they do with it. Late Edo/early Mejii period Japan would have been much better though... maybe in the 4th one.Sigma wrote:Ubisoft have given out some details about the next game. It will be set in Rome and will feature "innovative multiplayer, where players can participate in an assassination mode against friends online."
the more i see/think about this the more i agree with it. feudal japan or dynast china would be dope as fuck.Late Edo/early Mejii period Japan would have been much better though
do you think it will be pre, during or post ezio rome? if they are going to do the ww2 thing rome is still a possibility.
i hope that its gladiator-esque rome. that shit would be fucking excellent
and if its one gigantic city, that would also be really really sweet.
AC brotherhood is done. rome was sweet, no?
*****OF COURSE SPOILERS********
so during the credits i heard two dudes who i dont think ive heard before say some shit like this
'hes going into shock!'
'just link him into the animus, hell be ok'
'are you sure?'
'im the expert arent i?'
so the subject 16 video for those who dont want to run around all goddamn day is like this
ps seeing the subject 16 video and knowing what happens in the last sequence.....shit is coming together and is less murky. and if youre the type who hasnt watched it yet, or dont want to know.....be careful.
video is like 6 minutes long
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QurE-EzN8vY
pretty sweet.
it seems like since they are hapharzadly linking him into the animus that hell join up with hopefully some ancestor of asian heritage. hopefully this motherfucker will be able to do some sweet shit, as everyone knows azianz are super physically gifted what with ninjas and samurais and various other martial arts schools, which is a nice backdrop for assassins vs templars, especially with all the different power struggles
but i really really hope that you get to do a good amount of desmond stuff. in Brotherhood, all the climbing and shit with desmond was AWESOME but now its time to murder some nerdy templar dudes.
