It is a relief that there will be no autotune. No ID will be a good Kanye sidekick for a Jay-Z album, I suppose. I am worried that there is absolutely nothing Jay-Z could say on a record at this point that I would possibly care about.

i think he does talk about his life. hes got money. he does business. he owns his own shit. i mean....what the fuck do you want to hear from him at this point? what would interest you?
'i met dustin hoffman, he allright man
he played a retard who did vegas with a retard in Rain Man'
What's with all the doubting? His last album was one of his best so far, and since he's come nice on songs such as History, You're Welcome, D.O.A., Maybach Music, the My President Is Black verse, and I'm probably forgetting some. Am I the only one to still have a lil bit of faith for the god Hov?

i havent really enjoyed any of his post retirement albums, i did see an early review somewhere that this album is gonna enhance his legacy more than hurt it.
he has made more than enough good music for me to give him a chance.....although if this album sucks chances are i wont care anymore.
- this album will be boring as fuck like his last 2.
- every fuckwit pussy myspace blog rapper on the planet will rhyme over the instrumentals.
- every lame internet DJ will get hold of the acapellas and we will be subjected to 'Blueprint 3.1', 'The Wu-Print', 'Printmatic', 'Dillaprint', 'Dre-Print' etc. 1 of these will be good, the rest will be badly blended and completely out of key.
- every idiot on every message board and blog will over analyze it to death and pay it way too much attention and the word 'classic' will be used with no regard for its literal meaning.
-Jay Z will sit at hoime laughing to himself and wondering how much longer he can get away with releasing sub-par product to people who know nothing about quality Hip Hop. His rough estimate is forever.
- Men who like to have sex with other men will debate 'first week soundscan numbers' as though they matter and they have a vested interest in them
Kinda surprised there's not even one Just Blaze beat on there given they're making such a big deal about it being part 3 and releasing it on the anniversary of the first one.

American Gangster was a great album. The whole album flows really smoothly, it has great beats and seemless mixing, and Hova does a serviceable job rapping on it. I really don't get the hate for this at all. Everyone should listen to this from front to back and give it another shot.

Yeah, his emceeing was better on Reasonable Doubt and his other early stuff, but I don't see what seperates Jay's rapping on something like Blueprint from American Gangster. Also, except for Reasonable Doubt the beats on American Gangster are consistently better than his early albums. AG's also more focused, lyrically and musically, than all of his early albums (except Reasonable Doubt) too. It flows like a movie.
American Gangster is as underrated as Blueprint is overrated.

At least MGMT is a step up from Coldplay.
Still, tracklist ain't looking good, unless Jay kept all of Kanye's good beats for himself. (which may be what happened)
