Cloudkickers Remix Album

Post by dark0 »

http://www.mediafire.com/?mqnmmmfn02i

The cloudkickers (DJ Eli and Shan Boogs) release this remix album back in 2001. I thought it was pretty nice and maybe some of you here might be interested in it. Some real nice beats, so I thought I would share it.

Featuring remixes for MOP - Pounds Up, Big L - Flamboyant, among others.

I did not know this, thanks. I'm a huge fan of Eli's early work, always hated how none of the emcees on the Cloudkickers EP could really match the beats. Especially Cage...

Dj Eli introduced me to The Sound Library when I was looking for an old record one day.
This made my beat digging way easier but much more expensive.
Worth it, though.

EDIT- Plus he's down with the Juggaknots, so he's a good guy and a dope producer when he wants to be.

some really good stuff on here, but the little interludes are kinda more interesting to me than the remixes. i think i'm gonna save them separately and just add them randomly to a long tracklist to make for some nice transitions between songs

vaporized should do something with those, a few have tremendous potential if looped competently

I sampled the same shit as he did on Interlude #7. I think I went waay off with it though, like completely non sensical change ups. I'll have to look through my old zip disks for it, if it's even worth it.

Yea, Vapo could possibly do something with the interludes, but they're pretty short. I think he could still work with something if he wanted, though.

Here's what I did a few years back. It's the same sample as interlude #7, from a Kokomo record, if I'm remembering correctly. I also incorporated another sample that someone should be able to identify.

Here's the Eli interlude#7-(not mine)

And here's mine from 2003 or 2004-

Thanks fellas.
I'm all over the place, drizzle. But, most of my beats from around 03 to 05 were on some real mellow, smoothness. I love the cool out type grooves for some reason.
I do have some more uptempo joints though. Head noddin' shit.
I'll start bustin' some of them out soon, hopefully.

That Kokomo sample was also used by Smif N Wessun for Wrekonize.

Here are 4 lo-fi, static-y rips of remixes that were inexplicably left off this comp:

Family remix is so dope. It made me love a song I would otherwise never listen to, which is an accomplishment imo.

I didn't know this thread was a year old when I first posted, so I'd appreciate a re-up as well.
