I'm happy that a good show is getting played on CBS. Beyond that, it's kind of a dumb idea. They're going to have to edit LOTS of stuff out of the original episodes (nudity, language, violence), there will be commercials, AND Dexter is only 2 years old! I don't know why they had to jump on it so quick. Why not wait at least another year or two.

Whatever. At least I have Showtime.

Yea, the show will lose a lot. His sister and Doakes basically cant speak. Masuka will lose all of his cache too. It will suck, but I am glad the show is getting this kind of recognition.

This move is mainly cuz of the strike.

Will Season 3 be on CBS or just repeats of 1 & 2 all edited?

I'd hate to see this show go primetime and lose its edge cuz of the FCC.

Na, season 3 will still be on Showtime. I would be suprised if the chopped version lasts even one season. It cant be good.

I'm curious to see how these shows do on the networks. If they do really well, the writer's strike could have the unintended consequence of kind of altering the way networks go about things. While the networks have their prestige shows and I don't think the middling situation family comedies or cheap reality shows are going anywhere, the way they go about making their prestige shows might change for the better a little bit (everybody who works with HBO always loves the largely hands off attitude, and complains about how much manipulation is done to their projects on networks).

Yes, at least according to Julie Benz, aka Rita herself (with an adorable new brunette look, by the way, thanks to her just wrapped gig on The Punisher II: War Zone). While she was at the Nine West booth at the Access Hollywood gift lounge, she told me they have always been ready for the show to air somewhere other than premium cable. She says, "As we were shooting both seasons, we always did TV coverage for the dialogue for syndication purposes, if down the line it was ever going to air on another network. We already have that in the can, and most of the violence on the show is insinuated...I do know they'll take my naked butt out of it." FYI, I believe that in addition to removing some of the swear words and Julie's adorable naked butt, the eps will all be cut at least a few minutes shorter. The Showtime versions run about 52 minutes, and broadcast drama episodes usually run about 43 minutes, so we may lose a few comedic C-stories...

That foresight might help some, but it certainly won't be the same show.
