let's talk about old(er) school Cam'ron and how dope these albums are, especially in comparison to the crap he's been releasing lately

Maybe all-time was a stretch, but I said "one of" not "thee" or even "top five". But I definitely think for the era it came out (2000), it was one of the grimiest and darkest. I think the first two Mobb albums, Cuban Linx, 36 Chambers, Return to the 36 Chambers, Firing Squad, etc are grimier (and better on the whole), but most of them actually aren't as dark. I think when people use the term "grimy" they often add these associations of sample based production with strings and off-key pianos and crispy drums. Dont' get me wrong that shit is grimy, but so is sayin' you're gonna kill a bitch, then rape her, then bury the skirt.Med Student wrote:B. Its a sick ass album, sure he spits some street shit, but its nowhere NEAR the grimiest or darkest.. The nature of the album, ie. its production, is not really grimy/dark at all. Put this against some albums that actually ARE grimy as fuck and you can easily see the difference. Put this again some old mobb deep or wu and it doesnt really compare in terms of grimyness.
Go listen to Guru's solo work then fool. It's next level.jazzmatazz23 wrote:cam'ron Blows
