but last couple years though, there hasn't been a great individual performer on uconn squads but they still churn out nba prospects. mainly because everyone on the team can score. gay wasn't soft in college he just deferred alot. if you think he was soft, you were not watching that many uconn games.
watched many uconn games and thought he was soft but whatever, rashad anderson seemed like the guy that would step up on that team, and he didnt even startGregg Popabitch wrote:eh, and rip and ray allen before that. yeah, you're right.ripweblo wrote:look at ben gordon, he was agressive at uconn, and yet played w/in the systemGregg Popabitch wrote:wtf, it has nothing to do with aggresiveness. it's the uconn system.ripweblo wrote:gay w/ 20 shot attempts? thats more aggresive than he was at all his time at uconn combined

maybe our defenitions of soft is mixed up.
i think you mean he wasn't assertive.
watched the knicks game from about 8 minutes in the 4th when the knicks bench was laughing it up, haha
david lee was great tonight. he had a great game - lots of rebounds and hustle plays that nobody else wants to do. channing frye was horrendous to watch, jacking up that 3 from the baseline with a whole bunch of time left was ridiculous and always befuddles me
jamal crawford does a lot of aggravating things and a lot of good things. he got those two steals near the end of the game but really could not shoot for shit tonight
isiah is gonna have a tough season whether they win or lose - should be fun either way!

The refs made a conscious effort to castrate Gilbert last night, calling charges on completely unworthy shit-guards like Eric Snow. Eric Snow couldn't step in front of Gilbert and gain position if he was shot from a cannon. Straight bullshit. Anderson Varejao is the gayest player in the NBA, narrowly edging Nocioni, with the hair being a major factor.
Etan Thomas played well.
Paul Pierce had 19 boards?

Gilbert played like shit.
I was really impressed by what I saw from Etan Thomas early in the game. He had a nice move where he schooled slow ass big Z one on one for the easy score.

a couple of these will go a long way to improving the league, these players need to STFU and play, and not bitch everytime they miss a shot and think they were fouledMagneto wrote:The same here and I didn't even see Bibby get ejected, but I bet it was just as silly a situation.stupidregister wrote:Seriously. even though i like players to show some emotion, i agree with eternal reflection. the whining was at an all time high last year.eternalreflection wrote:a couple of these will go a long way to improving the league, these players need to STFU and play, and not bitch everytime they miss a shot and think they were fouledMagneto wrote:The same here and I didn't even see Bibby get ejected, but I bet it was just as silly a situation.stupidregister wrote:Seriously. Tougher rules, that's fine. But they take it to the extreme in these cases. If you don't let go of the basket after a dunk immediately, they T you up. You have to be able to show SOME emotion without getting T'd up. They are ruining the flow of the game with this shit.

I like that they're cracking down on bitching to the refs, but there's a difference between that and showing some sort of immediate reaction to a call you don't like.
I liked what Kenny Smith said yesterday about fans. If you're into the game you're watching and you see a bad call against your team, you're going to have some sort of reaction that's almost reflexive. You don't think before you've thrown your hands up or waved the call off in disgust. The same goes for players. You're completely neutering them.
Also Sam Cassell bitched at Steve Javie for like 2 minutes straight. It seemed like it was more in a conversational tone than him yelling at the ref, but I thought the rule was that you're not allowed to whine. Be fair with it. Sam's bitching obviously worked because he draws a bullshit foul right afterwards that allowed him to sink free throws for the lead late in the game.

this is my main gripe with the new rule.Psychosis wrote:Also Sam Cassell bitched at Steve Javie for like 2 minutes straight. It seemed like it was more in a conversational tone than him yelling at the ref, but I thought the rule was that you're not allowed to whine. Be fair with it.
i didn't get to watch the pistons/bucks game but after seeing highlights it seems like sheed just got that second tech because he's sheed and they're trying to make an example of him, which is bullshit. he was just trying to have a calm discussion with the ref and got tossed.
cassell's bitching was way more over the top and continued for a long time, but nothing happens? because it's late in the 4th? because he's not a 'problem player'? there needs to be some consistency.

i was like wtf.

Yeah that was garbage too if it's the play I'm thinking of. Francisco Elson of the San Antonio Spurs throws down a two handed jam and hangs on the rim. He's excited by the dunk so he's yelling. He comes down right in front of Dampier after hanging for a little bit, so I guess the ref thinks Elson is yelling in Erick's face to taunt him.Gregg Popabitch wrote:i agree.Psychosis wrote:I like that they're cracking down on bitching to the refs, but there's a difference between that and showing some sort of immediate reaction to a call you don't like.
