to sum it up, yes a lot of quantum physics talk, and scientific secrets to our life like you said.I love the fact that it doesnt talk about the atom bomb for more than 5 min and focuses more on explaining different thigs which I miss in documentaries like this.A lot of talk in part one is about the debate between classical and modern physicist. It`s really an allround great documentary and you`re gonna love the end of it since it talks about all the possible scientific theories that concern space, antimatter, parallel universe and the atom itself.thekeentwo wrote:getting the atom thing nowJuice wrote:Atom : The Clash of The Titans (part 1) - BBC

Good music documentaries:
You're Gonna Miss Me - Chronicles the tragic life of Roky Erikson, enigmatic singer of the groundbreaking psychedelic rock band the 13th Floor Elevators, who has developed schizophrenia and now lives in a squalid apartment with only his mother to take care of him.
Another State of Mind - Shows Social Distortion and Youth Brigade touring America in a giant school bus. Great document of what life on tour is like for a punk rock band in the early 80's.
The Filth and the Fury - The definitive Sex Pistols documentary. Even someone as jaded as me that has seen more than enough Sex Pistols retrospectives thought it was well-done.
If you don't mind a major bum-out:
White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills

Quantum mechanics/relativity describes our universe better than the pre-20th century theories. So...what's the debate about?Juice wrote:to sum it up, yes a lot of quantum physics talk, and scientific secrets to our life like you said.I love the fact that it doesnt talk about the atom bomb for more than 5 min and focuses more on explaining different thigs which I miss in documentaries like this.A lot of talk in part one is about the debate between classical and modern physicist.

The Elegant Universe touches upon the holographic principle at least in so far as it relates to the Maldacena conjecture.thekeentwo wrote:getting the atom thing nowJuice wrote:Atom : The Clash of The Titans (part 1) - BBC

Elegant Universe is awesome. Mostly about string theory and an attempt to find a universal law that ties small scale and large scale physics together. this torrent looks pretty active http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3517682 ... t_Universe

That one's about how movies are rated, and is VERY interesting indeed.
Also, I highly recommend all of Louis Theiroux's docs.
We are not talking about relativity or the universe here, this was the debate about the atom itself. When I talk about the modern physicists I dont mean 20th century people and theories but I`m referring to the "radical" physicists that worked in the 19th century. They were the modern physicists of that time people like Ernest Rutherford, Wolfgang Pauli and Niels Bohr. The debate was about the visualization of an atom to make my point short. They pictured it as free space with nucleuse in the center and electrons flying in that free space around it.And there were the classical physicist or the traditionalists or how ever you wanna called them with Einstein as the head of that group. They did not wanna comprehend the fact that the basic science laws(like gravity) did not apply to the atom or that the gravity does not work in the sub-atomic world and had a different picture of an atom (electrons sticking to a wave of some sort and so on).So thats what the debate was about and therefore the "The Clash of The Titans" is the appropriate name for that part of the documentary.Money Gripp wrote:Quantum mechanics/relativity describes our universe better than the pre-20th century theories.
