^this is blog is absolutely amazing...soul, funk, jazz, old r&b type stuff. it's also where i got the popular Willie Hutch flood from in MP3x. alot of the stuff is password protected so you have to submit an album in order to get it. (something may or may not be wrong with the page display right now, it's only showing today's story and there's no right side column).

^this one's pretty solid, alot of hiphop interspersed with other forms.
http://www.stereogum.com/
^somewhat pitchforkian, but a good place for indy rock. only problem is they don't post full albums.

the time you have to wait inbetween downloads is pretty ridiculous and it especially sucks when you find out there's fucked up files in the folder that don't play (which sometimes happens when i DL albums from albumbase, thats a pretty good site to get music from otherwise btw)Captin Planit wrote:God damn, fuck Rapidshare with a barbell in the ass repeatedly. A live journal community where many people post whole albums
http://escuchebien.blogspot.com/
mostly hip hop
http://casiohardcore.blogspot.com/
a lot of miami bass and electro music
http://unapieldeastracan.blogspot.com/
indie rock and other various things
http://www.regnyouth.com/
this one posts a good variety, but it sucks because you have to download a zipped file that has a text file with the link to the album in it, which is a lot of work for one album.

i just found this one looking for the electric Muddy Waters album "Electric Mud" to no avail, and it looks to be a great haven for classic rock and blues rock material.
(btw, if anyone has that album an upload would be more than appreciated)

scanning through all these different blogs makes you almost believe there's more individual pieces of recorded music than grains of sand or stars in the universe. and it's also sort of depressing that so much of this shit just whizzed past audiences' heads, like it had literally 5 minutes of shelf life, was pushed into out-of-print obscurity, and relegated to used bin fodder for eclectic escentric music heads, the musician long dead from a drug overdose in the 80s.
