The Streets' New Single "When You Wasn't Famous" (

Post by The Iron Sheik »

apparently he's got a new album dropping in april called The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living and this is the first single. i enjoy mike skinner's work, even if he isn't a very good rapper or producer, by technical standards. this song is all about dating a famous pop singer or something, i really like it, it's very pop, but i don't know if i like his reliance on singing of late

Big thanks, I really like the beat, and Skinner is on point. I'm not feeling the singing in the hook either. Hopefully he keeps that to a minimum on the album.

I'm generally a fan, and I like the secret-coke-slut theme, but this song sucks.

That tune was very "meh". The beat was horrible and Skinner annoyed me with his singing. Mind you the singles are usually shit but he brings a dope album.

Anyone know who is chatting about? Rachel Stevens?

Yo...I was listening to Pandora the other day, and a Cadence Weapon song came on. I was like "Shit I think that dudes on PhilaFlava." It was dope. I believe the song was called Sharks.

Do you remember what station you were listening to? Like whatever the first song was or whatever? I like that site in theory but most of the time it forces me to listen to 8 Jay-Z songs an hour and I'd rather just put in a Jay-Z album if that's the case.

This song is pretty catchy but Skinner is an ATROCIOUS rapper. Pretty unacceptable in a post-grime explosion world. Production is unreal though.

The first artist I put in was MF Doom. Basically you just gotta keep guiding it. Cause it'll play some random type shit. Like it played Hotel by R. Kelly/Cassidy, then it played some Illogic/Aesop Rock/Vast Aire song.

Now it seems to be playing more experimental type shit for me.

Definately feeling the first album, and i liked the Mitchell Brothers stuff. The second album and subsequent singles have been horrible & i read in the press this morning that he wants to do a track with UK's favourite crash helmet wearing, smack smoking wonder boy; Pete Doherty... kill me now...

this friend of mine loves him.
I am always worried she'll throw it on when we're smoking and I'll have to come up with an excuse to dip out early.

I've heard his new album and frankly he's jumped the shark, his 2nd album was kind of a grower for me but this one is totally contrived!!!

Not sweet as!

You could start a Cadence Weapon station too.
When we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.
