Help me make my Netflix queue

Post by royal »

I just rejoined Netflix, and as always I'm having trouble remembering all of the films that I've been meaning to watch. So help me fill up my queue by recommending me some good flicks.

So far I've started with: The Thin Blue Line, Don't Look Back, and Eraserhead.

Movies i'd recommend from my short experience with netflix (which hasn't been that great due to their slow shipping).

philadelphia

dog day afternoon

apocalypse now

serpico

Deliverance

i only have 55 movies on my list and if the shipping time now is any indication of the future, i'll probably never get to the end of my list by next year.

im not far behind rakesh, i have 270 in mine. but my netflix account is split between myself and my two roommates, we all have our own queues. im not gonna watch 270 movies in the time i live with them, so i need to find a way to transfer it to an account of my own when i move out, is that gonna be possible?

I've already seen all of these movies, but they are quite good. Especially Dog Day Afternoon.

Living In Oblivion looks good. I've been meaning to catch up on some older Buscemi stuff.

Oh, and according to many people on this site, 'The Wanderers' is an excellent and underrated film.

You really like diaries. I've seen the first two and I think I used to watch the third one when I was younger. Wasn't it an erotic tv show?

For what it's worth, I thought that movie was an overblown production with an underwritten script. Too much cleverness and not enough heart.

on another note, netflix fucked up my last order. i updated my queue so i would get Blue Velvet, Happiness (something I've been wanting to see for awhile, but no chain video stores had it and ive been ignoring to up it in my netflix), and Slacker (the Richard Linklater film, not the shitty teen comedy from acouple years back). instead their sending me Blue Velvet, Glengaryy Glen Ross (want to see it, but not as psyched up about it), and Oh Brother Where Art Thou? (saw it acouple weeks ago on TNT). i don't know how this happened...i updated my queue before my DVDs were returned.

One: Slackers, the linklater was only OK to me.

I've always been weary of this movie. I like most of David Lynch's stuff, but I'm not much of a scifi fan.

Casino
Boondock Saints
Being John Malkovich
Welcome to Collinwood - the ending slips but the rest is hilarious
Donnie Darko
Willow - I've loved this since I was 6

They're all pretty decent films worth watching. I'm drawing a blank here though.
