i don't watch tna, but obviously grew up on wwf... the classics... ric flair... bret hart, the million dollar man, hulk hogan... i am more interested from the business standpoint, can tna ever financially overthrow vince and his current stage show? can they have the most viewers/revenue in the sports entertainment industry?

rumors of Hulk returning to the tna is obviously a big, big thing as he is considered by essentially all to be a legend in the field. i don't know the full roster of either organizations, since i do not watch anymore, but have heard from people i know that watch both that tna has the majority of the old school wrestlers and the wwe seems to not have as many real legends but some of the newer names (john cena etc)

i refuse to believe that mcmahon would ever allow another brand name to be the industry standard but can this ever realistically happen in your opinion?

I haven't watched wrestling as a whole since before TNA even came into fruition. It was actually right around the time WCW got bought out by WWF/E. I find the beginnings of TNA interesting due to J E Double-F J A Double-R E Double-T's fall out with McMahon. wiki:

In 2006, Jarrett asserted that he had been paid only what he was owed by the WWF.[7][17][18][19] In a 2008 interview for a TNA special, Jarrett stated that not only were his negotiations cordial and in good faith, but that he also got stock options in the WWF's IPO, which occurred two days after he left.[20]

On the last Nitro [in 2001], Jeff was seen on RAW while Vince McMahon watched the show. Vince saw Jeff on the screen and told the viewer that Jarrett would not have a future in the WWF following McMahon's acquisition of WCW, effectively firing him on-air. This was obviously due to the way Jarrett had left the WWF two years earlier.[7][11]

It just seems like TNA was founded on a miffed, shady, "I'll show him" kinda platform. But you're asking from a business standpoint, so I say...until TNA goes public (if they ever do), it's highly doubtful that organization will catch up to the WWE's revenue share. How they could even raise enough money for an IPO, when WWE already has enough of the market share stronghold of their own, would clearly depend on parties that for whatever reason believe TNA is the future of professional wrestling.

Hah, look at that...almost been ten years now since the IPO. Notice right around the center left within each year stock performance bracket...I haven't checked all of them, but I'm guessing those spikes in profit are more than likely due to Wrestlemania. And that alone, with marketing and ticket sales playing a huge part, is one thing WWE will always have to its advantage. A successful PPV event that will always sell out every seat. Until TNA has an event that can do that, I don't see any advantage Jarrett will ever have over McMahon.

Again, haven't watched wrestling in forever but safe to say everyone who has watched it whom I've talked to thinks TNA is terrible programming. Granted that claim is a few years old, in part due to no one who watches wrestling is watching TNA programming over Raw or Smackdown.

2) Absolutely not. If Ted Turner couldn't beat Vince, no way Dixie Carter will. Especially considering how gimmicky TNA is and that it's basically '00 WCW-lite, there is nothing to draw in the average wrestling fan.

The one thing I used to watch for was the X-Division. But I'd still prefer watching those guys' indy stuff as opposed to them doing flippy dippy shit in a six sided ring.

Also, fuck Jeff Jarrett.

TNA's had brief ups and very, very long downs. Most recently, from June 2012-November 2012 they were the best wrestling program on television. They've recently fired about half the roster and hired a bunch of talent who were either indie guys that never got a chance or guys the WWE mishandled. Right now, the show's better than it's been in quite a while.

If you haven't given TNA a shot in a few years, now is the time.

McMahon has been on top of the game for going on almost 20 years now. His reign at the top is tall like Great Khali.

But nothing lasts forever and someone eventually will cause the WWE a problem the same way they did WCW back in the day.

Well it has never happened... Ever... And while WCW did rival them and exceed them before Stone Cold and the Rock hit their primes nobody was EVER capable of overthrowing them... and if they were, they didn't... even the WCW... just interested to see if this will go on forever

This, The American Wolves just came over and they dropped all the dead weight on the roster.

Even Jeff Hardy is in the midst of reinventing himself.

In March they are having a cross-promotion ppv with Wrestle-1 from japan (The Great Muta's promotion)

Can't see anyone ever getting as big as wwe at this point, no matter how awful their product is.
