Looks like it follows on directly from the first movie with some of the original cast. Colonial marines head cams in the mix too.

Glad there's a sequel. Not glad it's in the same exact location. Trailer looks like resident evil.

Looks good.
I finally saw the o.g. last week and I was very impressed. The last 5 minutes or so were some of the creepiest shit I've seen in a minute.
I like that the cameras this time are on the sides of their helmets. You would think it might be easier for them considering they've got automatic weapons. I guess we'll see. Hopefully they had more of a budget to work with as well.
I just hope this hits the U.S. sooner than it did the first time.

The fact that they gave away the ending to Quarantine in the trailer?
[REC] got released in the US a few months back. As for the UK release of Let The Right One In, we got that last month.

this is like what Aliens was to Alien, the action is ramped up with all the tension intact. The film starts literally 15mins after the other ended. I like the direction they took with this, some very inventive things done with the cameras to tell the story.

I just watched it at TIFF 2 days ago, definitely a great sequel that builds upon what was good in the first. It takes what was hinted at the end, and runs in that direction. Ends up being like the Exorcist x Blairwitch on crack.

a sequel seems completely appropriate considering the length of the first movie & how it ended

Sony Pictures acquired the US rights to REC 2 if I remember rightly.
It could get a limited theatrical release, even if not, there won't be such a lengthy wait for it on DVD like it's predecessor.

i'm by no means an expert on horror/thrillers & tend to not give anything contemporary a chance besides critic's picks (with 300+ generic shit-studio-movies as justification)
but out of all the scary movies i've seen in the last 5 years.. [rec] & the orphanage are definitely top 10.. probably both top 5. spaniards are doing something right in this genre
