Agreed, much better overall than the baby mom episode last week.

Re: Atlanta
I liked the last two episodes enough, but they shouldn't have aired the two weird episodes back to back like that. I'm ready for them to get back to the main storyline.
Re: Atlanta
What do you perceive to be the "main storyline?" I ask because I watch the show with the same general mindset as Louie or something of that nature where the episode(s) could follow a narrative or just be a slice of life type of thing. I don't really care what the narrative is or where it goes, as long as the episodes are interesting and entertaining.Tommy Bunz wrote:I liked the last two episodes enough, but they shouldn't have aired the two weird episodes back to back like that. whole format was brilliant.
"questions..................... the universe..................... paternity tests?"
re main storyline: don't be dense. main storyline is paperbwoi blowing up. the first few eps built some momentum that has dwindled at least since ep5

Re: Atlanta
last episode served the main storyline subtly - the whole reason Paperbwoi is on the show is that he's now notorious enough to be noticed for talking shit on the internet. similar to how the bball game also showed his progress in an indirect way, just by suggesting that he's now known enough to be in some charity game along with a bigger star. which feels right on the nose with who he's supposed to be, just some dude who's just on the edges of fame but even not really for the right thing.
thought this episode was brilliant, on par with peak moments of boondocks and chapelle as far as satire. it's pretty amazing that the show can pull off those kinds of insular asides of humor AND keep you interested in the main story line.
didn't mind the Vanessa one, but it did kinda feel like a Lisa episode. she needs to be more involved in the story for me to care more about her.

Paper needs to have another episode where he is on The B.A.N. That episode was too funny. Glad they made fun of Arizona for that 99 cents can they advertise.

The Montague episode was a brilliant piece of satire, Southpark esque in its' takedown of SJW's.

Yea, I mean this show is decent in that it's better than a lot of other shit out there, but it's really not that great.EMCEE DARTH MALEK wrote:man this last one continues the streak of having nothing to do with the plot

This isn't P&B, I'm not trying to argue, I'm just stating my opinion. I'll continue to watch cause the subject matter is in my wheelhouse, but I'm left feeling underwhelmed after most episodes. It is what it is.drizzle wrote:before you start arguing consider who you're arguing with

Re: Atlanta
it's like inglourious basterds. we paid to see the basterds but we got bait & switched into watching a woman. but instead of assassinating hitler this woman gets fired from elementary school for snitching on herself and goes to adult contemporary parties. boring!

Darius pulled a Kanye at the awards too, walked up on stage when they announced Silicon Valley as the winner as best comedy and then tweeted "not crazy" later that night. Really hope they do more/longer episodes next season.
