ECW to make a "come-back"
[WWE] has begun negotiating with past ECW stars about working for the new group, which is being eyed for a September debut.
According to sources, WWE has not yet determined the means in which the shows will take place. Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer will be in charge of booking.
One-year minimum contracts to join the revived ECW will be sent out next week. The Sandman, Francine and Balls Mahoney are among those to be asked about signing.

Well lets see... Chris Daniels, AJ Styles, Sabu, Dudley Boys, Jerry Lynn, Raven and Rhyno and I think Steven Richards are all in TNA. So that leaves who? Dreamer, Taz, Blue Meanie, Mike Awesome (would be sweet), Sandman, RVD, Shane Douglas, Spike Dudley, Al Snow, Justin Credible, Mickey Whipwreck, Little Guido, Tajiri, Lance Storm, Steve Corino... I guess you could throw in Saturn or someone like that too...
Who knows who has burnt their WWE bridge or who is under contract with Indies or in Japan though
Could be amazing if done right.

If this happens, I will flip the fuck out.
I only got to go to Masscare on 34th St (Too young when ECW was in it's hey-day) in 2001, and I had the best time ever.
Got my ticket (standing room only) for this year's "One Night Stand."
As much as we all know that ECW will never be duplicated, just the fact that this is being talked about brings a smile to my face.

Shane Douglas - will never be allowed anywhere near something funded by Vince
Spike Dudley - in TNA as of a week or so ago
Mickey Whipwreck - body is destroyed and can't wrestle anymore
Lance Storm - retired
Saturn - who knows
They have a few options, but it would probably consist of mostly end of the road era guys (CW Anderson, that amish guy, etc.)
Maybe they'd let Nova do something no shitty

-- USA Network will broadcast the ECW vs. WWE special live from 9-11PM on 6/7. It will emanate from Dayton, Ohio. The show will be headlined by a Battle Royal.
-- WWE is working on booking a number of ECW house shows in various cities the promotion once toured. Being looked at are Philadelphia (ECW Arena on 6/24 is the goal), Detroit, Chicago, Poughkeepsie, Buffalo, Cleveland, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, New York (Hammerstein Ballroom), Tampa, Long Island, various New Jersey locations and Pittsburgh.
-- There is speculation that ECW might receive the 2AM weekend timeslot currently held by the WWE A.M. RAW replay. Despite the late slot, the reply has managed to pull in TNA-level ratings, which means ECW would be viewed by a solid audience.
-- WWE was holding meetings about ECW throughout the day. Paul Heyman was actually forced to miss today's OVW show

also i notice it was a "shoot" instead of a shoot. so im guessing in the end it was all still a work?

amazing promo. yes joey styles does cut a sick promo. a lot of the old ecw wrestlers cut better promo's than the guys that are out today, maybe because a lot of it was a shoot.
but yeah, this promo is definitely a step in the right direction as far as re-launching ecw goes.[/b]
