Calvin and Hobbes is one of my favorite things, period.

These are too long to read though.

bill watterson lives across from the school in my town, and the art teacher had an after school meeting where he told anyone interested in making comics to come in, and when everyone came in it was bill waterson who came in and talked to them/showed them how to draw etc.

I always forget to acknowledge it, but I realize that C&H is probably one of the biggest influences on my writing. I read those books until they fell apart when I was a kid.
Reality continues to destroy my life.

I saw at Borders the other day that they released all the comics in a single hardback collection, looks like a must own.

I was suprised when I started reading my old books about a year ago, there's no way I got some of these jokes as a kid, makes me appreciate Calvin and Hobbes on a whole new level.

One of my favorite professors said something to the effect of "People were always saying there was no good philosophic writing in the 90s. All they had to do was read the comic section of the newspaper."
