This show is a slow burner, but it's bring all the emotions out of me. Great music, too.
Buy my mixtape.

Can somebody explain the diploma picture? I don't remember seeing that... or what is being implied when you guys post it.

Re: "Better Call Saul"
In the last ep, Jimmy says he got his law degree from the University Of Samoa.zombie wrote:Can somebody explain the diploma picture? I don't remember seeing that... or what is being implied when you guys post it.
The screenshot of the diploma is from Breaking Bad, it says University of Samoa but the name on it is not Jimmy Mcgill, it's Saul Goodman. And the diploma is from 1984, even though by the timeline of Better Call Saul Jimmy supposedly got his in the mid 00s.
So something is not adding up - either its a fake diploma, or Jimmy got it in the name of Saul Goodman to begin with which implies some scam already in progress, etc etc

Re: "Better Call Saul"
How could he have gotten it under the Saul Goodman name though from the beginning if he handed that one letter to his brother Chuck confirming he passed the exams and all of that?
And if i remember correctly, when he had Kim reading it, she said "something something Jimmy" I thought?

Re: "Better Call Saul"
well i dont think its a mystery pe se, but I also dont WANT to believe that it was something that the creators overlooked...unfortunately im leaning more toward the creators responding with "who gives a shit"

Re: "Better Call Saul"
I'm guessing fake, or modified diploma. Saul's already shown he'll make himself look older to get more elderly clients. I will say his origin story being set in the early 2000s makes him seem younger than I took the character to be on the show.drizzle wrote:In the last ep, Jimmy says he got his law degree from the University Of Samoa.zombie wrote:Can somebody explain the diploma picture? He doesn't get his law degree in the episode -- he passes the bar. Two separate things, but you typically need a law degree as part of the requirements. It means he can now legally practice law in the state of NM.
Re: "Better Call Saul"
i'm nearly 100% positive that you need a law degree to even take the bar exam, unless certain states have exceptions

That character is played by Joe Derosa, who is often referenced on Bill Burr's MMP and has opened for Burr several times when I've seen him live. Funny comedian.T Rav wrote:So far I dig every scene with the veterinarian . He's a fairly funny character.

When you hear elder abuse it involves finances most of the time. I see it at the bank all the time. Deadbeat grandkids that live off of handouts from their grandparents' social security/pension and regularly commit check/ATM fraud to siphon off as much cash as they can. I assume they're supporting habits most of the time, which doesn't make it any better, but certainly more believable.

No doubt. The door to doors are the worst to me. Come knocking around dinner time and won't take no for an answer. My wife is way too nice. If they get me at the door my goal is to have them reconsidering their employment by the end of the encounter. I'll scream on them if necessary.
Re: "Better Call Saul"
I used to be a health inspector investigating complaints in assisted living facilities, and a lot of the time it was exactly this. And sometimes it literally was scenarios where the assisted livings were committed crimes very similar to what was going on in last weeks episode lolunclebengi wrote:When you hear elder abuse it involves finances most of the time. Re: "Better Call Saul"
it's nice to see Jimmy stand up for himself. No need for him to enable Chuck who always tried to keep him down. My favorite sequence was when Mike took the gun out of that giant MF's hand

Nah Mike took the gun out of the talkative dude's hand. The giant guy just ran off like a scared schoolgirl when he saw what Mike is capable of.capable_keL wrote:it's nice to see Jimmy stand up for himself. Re: "Better Call Saul"
Felt like a slightly flat execution of a really dope idea. Idk maybe they telegraphed the betrayal too strongly and that took some punch out of the climax. On paper though, in terms of the characters they created, it's a great and totally fitting turn. McKean really nailed the mix of disgust and naive conviction that it's all good.
Really love that Howard is generally not that bad of a guy, he's just extra hateable because he's mad rich and good looking and well adjusted and shit like that. Like he probably yachts and does mad yoga and has great sex with his wife who is a successful interior decorator and their kids are overachievers who volunteer at church.
