Help me identify this movie

Ok, so for years I've been trying to identify this movie, I once saw it on tv and then NEVER seen or heard of it again. But I remember the movie was just AWESOME. Heres the general premise.

Its about a group of four (I believe..) dudes who were into acting and wanted to design a play which would be as REAL as possible. The play was basically a depiction of a bank robbery, but as the movie progressed you could see the characters, one of them in particular, become so involved in this play that they began going crazy, its very psychological. The result of the play was that they actually went through with the bank robbery, simply for the sake of the art. They actually murdered someone I believe and some of them (or all of them) died at the robbery. It was a very intense movie and I'd love to watch it again, but I can't recall the title.

it was probably released sometime during the late 90's

I have NO CLUE who was in it, or who directed it

the key focus of the movie was the fact that they were so into/caught up in the artistic value of the play, and making it a masterpiece, that I dont htink they realized exactly what they were doing (or maybe they did). I know the original plan was NOT to shoot anyone during the bank robbery, but plans change..
