Need Some Help Getting My XBOX Wireless Adapter To Work

I posted this in the Tech forum as well, but thought some of you may also know how to do this.

I've tried the xbox troubleshooting and website, and I just think I need one of you to help me out who is familiar with some of the terminology.

Some background:

We have wireless in my house, using Microsoft Base Station in the family room to broadcast the wireless signal. I have hooked up in my room the Xbox Wireless Adapter. The Adapter is plugged into the wall for power, and an ethernet cable is connecting the adapter and the Xbox.

Okay, so I'm trying to connect and I get a message that says "DNS Not Found: No DNS server addresses were received from the DHCP or PPPoE server. Enter the DNS server provided by your ISP in the Network Settings menu."

What does that mean? What is PPPoE and a DNS server?

Help me get on track. Thanks.

Wireless adapters suck. When you have one and you go on live, you can't join parties where another person with a wireless adapter is host. Also, you connection isn't as good and you will redline more often than you want to and also mess up the connection of those playing with you.

Try resetting your router and modem.

Heard all of that before and don't care. It's the only way I have of playing Live at my house.
