The demo is out on PSN. You get a Nissan and do a time trial thing. My record is 1'46"
Can you faggots beat it?

greatly disappointed in the graphics so far, shit looks like a ps2 game... other then that I have always been a fan of the series, and yeah, there are some sick cars on that list.

Are you serious? The crowd is always going to look like that, I read an article about it. I would rather they left it out, but it's not a big deal either way.
I think the graphics are great looking. Are you on hdmi?

Well 9 months later and it's set for November 2nd.
I'm still geeked, this is an instant purchase. One of my favorite series of all time.
Anyone complaining about graphics from the demo will be pleasantly surprised. Check in here if you're a car geek, ps3 owner, and want to race me for pinks.

Honestly I would never go out and buy a Nascar game, but I will definitely fuck with it in this context.
Online racing is supposedly really slick.
Most delayed game ever?

I think you're probably right, but in terms of games that eventually get released I think GT5 is the winner

Gran Turismo 5 has never been delayed outside of Japan, where it's only been delayed once. It's taken a long time to make though!

They had a release date set for February, I went to put money down at Gamestop and was told it got pushed to November.
I don't know if that's official or what, but it smells like a delay to me.

Pretty sure you can trade cars with people online so I'm imagining that's how it would work.
Will know more soon.
This and the new COD will make November a busy month. Charge your headset

That's just retailers making up their own release dates. That sort of thing happens all the time. The only official release date for the US was November 2nd..............
.........However, the game has just been delayed today in the US. There's no new release date, but they say it'll be released before Christmas. From the Playstation Blog: -
We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the gameגs release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
Weגll have more information for you in the near future.

IGN said this is a 10/10 simulator in a 5/10 game, and I kind of agree. If you want to geek out on cars and drive around a track a lot then you'll have no problems with GT5. If you're looking for an engaging and interesting single player "career mode" type of thing, you'll be disappointed.
B spec is fucking boring.
The online racing is really good though. Been in games of 10 or 12 and there's barely any lag. Good community, fun to race online. This game has longevity in that aspect.
Loving it so far though. Holler if you cop it

I'd agree with that too.
I think Polyphony Digital are great at getting the core driving experience down, but the rest of it needs work. I didn't expect to see framerate dips and screen tearing in a AAA title of this calibre and some of the tracks and non-premium cars look shitty. When the game is at its best, it's brilliant, but it all smacks of a game that was rushed out of the door so Sony wouldn't miss the Christmas market this year, even with it taking 5 years or so to develop.

For me GT was always about getting a lot of cars, and then racing friends. I wasn't big on the incessant tuning or whatever else people do to entertain themselves after they've beaten everything.
So in that respect this is good enough for me. I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, but it was less than I was expecting.
I'm going to force myself to like B spec
