how do I unzip the file? I click on the key upon downloading via WinZip and it won't transfer to my desktop, calling itself file "*.*".

Check your PMs for a different link. Also, you don't double-click the file cos it isn't a registry key. Save it somewhere, then when you install Kaspersky it will ask you for the location of the key. Browse to it and select it and it should be registered for 1 year.
