CoD: United Offensive

Post by The Red Scare »

hey all...

I'm thinking about picking up this expansion pack for my Mac. I loved the original Cally of Duty, and I'm wondering if I should cop UO for $25.

How does the single player in UO compare to the first game? Also, I'm aware that they added a lot to the multiplayer, but is it better?

Thanks in advance.

i don't even play the single player for this, the multiplayer is just too damn addicting.

Whoops....missed this thread.

I love this game. Really looking forward to CoD2.

Still, if UO is still costing this much where most of the online traffic that was playing this game has moved to BF2......I'd say look for a better deal at best.

Multiplayer is a lot better with the sprint feature.
The G43 really gives the Germans a better shot against a skilled American team.
The MG34 and .30 cal are cool as far as adding the support gunner role but tend to get you killed if you use one (deploying takes too long).
Smoke nades were definately needed and add a nice dynamic to the game that was missing.

I picked UO up about a week ago, and I'm hooked. I can't believe how much the multiplayer has changed from the original, they made a great game even better. The single player of UO was way too short, but the multiplayer has to be the next best thing to Battlefield 2.

My only real complaint about the multiplayer is that its really hard to stay alive on foot if there are tank on the map. Satchel charges and anti-tank weapons should have been made more powerful.

Oh yeah, and I was also wondering, what are some good mods to download?

This was probably my favorite aspect of the expansion. I loved sneaking around on foot and taking out tank whores. One good shot to the back of a tank should be enough usually. Shots to the front are nearly pointless unless it is worn down.

The mod scene is pretty sweet for this game.....

Personally, I like the German Front Mod (more historically accurate weapons/sounds). You really need to keep your ass down because you will get dropped by someone with a decent shot.

The mod I am playing right now though is the Revolt UO mod.....the major drawback is that there are no vehicles (yet) but the modern weapons are very well done and really even. I really wish the FPS aspect of BF2 was the same quality as the Revolt mod.

dope, thanks for the feedback. I totally forgot that tanks are more vulnerable from the back. That will definitely makes things more interesting... I feel like a damn superhero when I take down tanks, full jeeps, etc. That's my favorite part of the game too.

I'll check out those mods too.
