Re: Retro NES System
maybe they just pulled it to push the mini-snes? although both systems kind of cannibalize their virtual console hustle.

That still wouldn't explain why they pulled it 9 months early when it was still selling really well.
There has to be a financial reason behind it.

Re: Retro NES System
do you recommend any HDMI switches? i ran out of spots on my TV so want something small that'll allow me to add on 1 more HDMI.
Re: Retro NES System
I have a small generic one that works well, but I have no idea what company it was branded as when I bought it.Philaflava wrote:do you recommend any HDMI switches? i ran out of spots on my TV so want something small that'll allow me to add on 1 more HDMI.

Re: Retro NES System
Any chance you could make an N64 one?
Re: Retro NES System
N64 support on Raspberry Pis is spotty at best. Nintendo should be releasing an official N64 'classic' soon. There have been info leaks and such that suggest this, so I would just wait for that.Raphael De La Ghetto wrote:Any chance you could make an N64 one?

Have an extra SNES Classic Edition (mini). Anyone interested in a customized one with extra games added?

Re: Retro NES System
All the games. NES games are small enough that you could put the entire U.S. library on there, but I don't really recommend that. I think the experience is better if you limit it somewhat to your favorites.Philaflava wrote:how many games can you put on say a NES classic?
SNES is a different story as the rom files are larger. I've seen people put ~300 games on the SNES classic but then you don't have any room for save states.
The ideal setup for the SNES is to have about ~100 or so games and there is a mod which compresses games saves to a fraction of their original size which should prevent running out of space.
There's also a multiboot option where you can add the full firmware of other classic editions. For example you could have the SNES classic and add the option to reboot into the full official NES menu. You can add extra games to both sides, so you essentially have two classic edition systems in one.
