I am 30 hours in and at the ark but I have to waste a lot of time at the hospital......it sucks having the game since the day it came out but not being able to play it as much as you want.
So far, I have to say that 6,7,8, and 10 are all better then this. It's alright but I expect more from Final Fantasy.
To the people who are done, does it get better after the ark?

Picked this up for $9.99 brand new @ Best Buy, they're having a 25th FF anniversary on it for all formats - I haven't played Final Fantasy since 7 (which was one of my favorite games of all time) and I'm wrapped up in too many games right now to do more than pop it in and play an hour or two, but the hour or so I played seemed pretty awesome. Part II looks cool and the trailers for 14 look awesome
Anyways, I think the sale is running for another day if you have a Best Buy near you...

ff13 2 probably not great. the thing about 13 is that i have very little desire to replay it. almost zero desire. if 13-2 is substantially the same that will be problematic for my purchasing desire.
ff 10-2 changed a bit, which i respect except for the fact that it was a 3/10 story, etc and pretty sweet battle system that was ok but kind of dumb the way they did the classes and the fact that you had to find spheres.
that in mind. i would love to see them change the exploration mechanics, ie world map, and would love to see them change the battle system around where you press more than one button and the goal is not to finish off enemies quickly. i seriously do not give a fuck about 3 stars or 5 stars or whatever. that shit is fucking retarded, i am just trying to get through the game.

FFXIII-2 is supposed to be completely different regarding exploration, world map, etc. You interact with people regularly in towns, etc. similar to previous games. This is supposed to be pretty much open and let you go freely - where as complaints of XIII were that it was too linear.ric wrote:that in mind. i would love to see them change the exploration mechanics, ie world map, and would love to see them change the battle system around where you press more than one button and the goal is not to finish off enemies quickly. i seriously do not give a fuck about 3 stars or 5 stars or whatever. that shit is fucking retarded, i am just trying to get through the game.
The battle system is pretty much the same but with the added caveat that you can add "monsters" or creatures you have defeated in certain battles to fight along side you. You can switch team leaders within battles - thus controlling someone else, and a few other tweaks.
The demo is up on PSN and Live - simple, but gets the point across.
