Ouch. Here's a matchup where there can be no clear winner. I love PE, but I've got to give the nod to "You Gots to Chill." It's just a more entertaining and listenable song. Had the PE track been "Don't Believe the Hype" I might have gone the other way.

EPMD.

Although hearing London getting mentioned by Flav track was great. Everyone and their mother claimed to have been there.

Definately agree that this might just be the hardest poll yet.

Usually, i'd vote on which track works better on the dancefloor (or which track has the lyrics about sex, money, cars and drugs) so "You Gots To Chill" would get the nod but, like Admiral sez, "Black Steel.." is just so epic. At one point it was my favorite rap song of all time.

Vote : Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos.

such a tough choice though.

I think they Jungle Boogie sample, the general funk of this song just has me sold.
my favorite EPMD song with Rampage at a close second.

Even their respective videos are fucking off the chain, Flav grabbing that whitey's hand with the gun and taking off his glasses and pointing at him vs. Seeing Parish's breath while he raps amongst ice.

Only reason I took "Chill" was because of the beat.

You really got to look close to see the magic behind PE.They did everything they could to get the listener to really pay attention to what Chuck is sayin. From the Isaac Hayes sample to all the tricky lines chuck spits, some not really rhyming but thats just to keep you listening through the whole song.PE worked so hard to get their message across and although EPMD`s song could easily won any othe poll you just can`t its fucking wrong to front on a group who made such an effort to change things for the better and made a clear messaage with their music and thats pretty much what rap is about.
