Highly recommended
http://themartorialist.blogspot.com/201 ... -scan.html
Here's the 3 page Hip Hop Memories piece from The Source's 50th issue in november 1993 where various rap luminaries including Chuck D, DJ Red Alert, Scarface, Posdnuos and Maseo, DJ Quik, Russell Simmons, all 3 members of Run Dmc, 2pac, Funkmaster Flex, Common, Nelson George, Sir Mix-A-Lot and Source writers like Jon Shecter, James Bernard and Reginald C Dennis picked their favourite rap album, single and memory
Too $hort choosing Spoonin' Rap as his favourite rap single is a personal highlight, Luke reminiscing about getting blown on stage is probably the grandest memory and it comes as no surprise that a raging narcissist like KRS would plump for Criminal Minded as his bestest rap album evah imo, but who knew Crazy Legs held Sex And Violence in such high esteem or that Kool Keith and Kool G. Rap's favourite albums were Mecca And The Soul Brother and The Chronic respectively?
Should we get a single thread for (links to) magazine scans?

Excellent read... I like the Kool Moe Dee's memory the most... he kinda gave LL props, even though they were rivals.
I'm kinda sad that nobody put Top Billin' as their favorite single (I would, lol).
Also, lol at DJ Quik... I guess at that time east coast wasn't the enemy
Thanx 4 the link

noticed a few people bought up the same favourite memories - Melle Mell vs KRS at Latin Quarter and Run DMC @ MSG both got a few mentions.
Theres a few stories in there I hadnt heard before too.

"I did the show in my underwear. They was buggin. I had a coat on with a scarf with underwear and some bugged out black shoes."
Looks like Kool Keith was crazy in 93 too.

There was already a Source Magazine thread somewhere, but a thread for
all magazine scans could work.
I've got a pretty solid collection of magazines (Source [91-98], HHC [89-98], Ego Trip [all but 1 or 2 issues], True/Trace [early issues], Rap Pages, Rap Sheet, Vibe, etc) and have been considering creating a blog to up some regular scans (more like the Press Rewind blog than the Thimk blog) - what do you guys reckon - worth doing or not?

What's the best blog-site type these days: blogspot, wordpress, tumblr?

Apparently tumblr is more geared towards posting photos and stuff so might be worth a go. Havent used Wordpress but apparently thats alot more diverse than blogspot

Right click > open in new tab/window - that should open each image at full size.
Let me know how you get on.

Top stuff Mark, any of the older Ego Trips would be appreciated, the Ricky Powell Rickford Files always had me in stitches. Im sure the UK heads would fiend for old HHC gear too, the small ads still floor me

Do you happen to have any issues of Downlow or Represent? There was an American indie one too but I can remember the name right now.
edit-and thanks for these, it's a great idea.

Cool, thanks. Do any of those mags ever pop up on Ebay?
edit-I had to throw away all my mags, I greatly regret that now as they would have been great to go through for the interviews.
