Kwest the madd lad thread

here is his album and his unreleased stuff in case someone still doesnt have them...
could someone post up some singles? or something more from him, his verse is also on lyricist lounge vol 1. and on rok one's single you guys hooked me up with a few days back...
and, does anyone have that battle vs. Al skillz...it would be much appreciated if you could post it :lol:

Here's a couple of battles here. A.L. Skillz and one vs. this kid Koran. The sound on the A.L. one is kinda ehhhhh, I DL'd that one from somewhere, I have a better copy on cassette. Actually I have like 3+ tapes full of 88 Hip-Hop freestyles and battles. They're all recorded from the Real Audio stream, so they sound a bit tinny, on par with the Koran one. If I ever get the equipment to rip tapes I'll throw all that shit up because there's some dopeness on there.

Last week I downloaded

and

but I really can't remember where I found 'em. I'm also looking for...

if anyone has them. Dude is definitely one of my favorite MC's of all time.

He has some great songs but for the most part this guy's rhyming is pretty suspect.

Stylewise he sounds like Diamond Shell on pcp. His lyrical style is kind of like a very juvenile, dumbed down version of Akinyele. To each his own, though, just my opinion.

word. his flow was pretty suspect too. he was an entertaining guy but come on...he was alright at best.

"What's the Reaction" is a really, really, really dope song. Was there a remix that was similarly great or did I imagine that?

To me he's basically the forerunner to J-Zone: hilarious rhymes and stories, but I can only listen every so often.

xcept J-Zone is a Mr Do-it-all and got some of the best beats the 00's have produced.

Kwest is not that bad as an emcee, his rhyming style and caring about rythm is suspect though, as someone already mentionned.
But his LP is a must have regarding the concept, production and laughing potential

I used to think the same thing until I heard that unreleased compilation, peep "The Flavatism" if you haven't heard it.
