Here's a couple of battles here. A.L. Skillz and one vs. this kid Koran. The sound on the A.L. one is kinda ehhhhh, I DL'd that one from somewhere, I have a better copy on cassette. Actually I have like 3+ tapes full of 88 Hip-Hop freestyles and battles. They're all recorded from the Real Audio stream, so they sound a bit tinny, on par with the Koran one. If I ever get the equipment to rip tapes I'll throw all that shit up because there's some dopeness on there.

Last week I downloaded

Shabaam Shadeeq feat. Eminem, SKam, A.L. & Kwest - ג€œ5 Star Generals"

and

DJ Yoda feat. Celph Titled, Kwest & Apathy - ג€œFresh Fly Fellasג€

but I really can't remember where I found 'em. I'm also looking for...

Kwest, J-Treds, Thirstin Howl III, & l.G. Off And Hazadous - Bathroom Cipher

and

Eddie Ill and D.L. & Kwest - Misuse

if anyone has them. Dude is definitely one of my favorite MC's of all time.

He has some great songs but for the most part this guy's rhyming is pretty suspect.

Stylewise he sounds like Diamond Shell on pcp. His lyrical style is kind of like a very juvenile, dumbed down version of Akinyele. To each his own, though, just my opinion.

"What's the Reaction" is a really, really, really dope song. Was there a remix that was similarly great or did I imagine that?

To me he's basically the forerunner to J-Zone: hilarious rhymes and stories, but I can only listen every so often.

xcept J-Zone is a Mr Do-it-all and got some of the best beats the 00's have produced.

Kwest is not that bad as an emcee, his rhyming style and caring about rythm is suspect though, as someone already mentionned.
But his LP is a must have regarding the concept, production and laughing potential

I miss Biz Markie

Y2k cruelly misses its personnal own Biz Markie

I used to think the same thing until I heard that unreleased compilation, peep "The Flavatism" if you haven't heard it.
