Masters of Ceremony - Dynamite

Post by Dan »

I just found out this is getting a re-release on Tuesday. I always looked for this CD used, but it's been out of print for so many years and often fetched triple digits on ebay and Half.
I have the cassette and converted it myself to a CD-R, so it'll be nice to have a CD quality version.
Here's the press release:

Traffic Entertainment Group in partnership with Strong City Records is proud to present the re-release of the Masters of Ceremony

This is one of the best Hip Hop albums of all time. I always liked Masters beter than Brand nubian and lamented the fact they they never had more than that one LP or even a reuinion single. It is one of the first rap LP's to popularize the use the reggae style chatting, as well. I have the Don Baron solo LP, if you are interested.

I am surprised any of the pimplefaced fagots that post here even remember this LP. I am 31 and most people my age don't remember it.

On a related note, nothing pisses me off more than these pretentious, Johnny-Come-Lately pseudo "Hip-Hop Historians" that try to live in the golden age of Hip Hop vicariously through older people they meet and through little factoids that they find websurfing and reading old Source magazines. Then, they come online and try to pretend they actually remember the era/artist that they're "hipping" you to. I love it when some 19 year old tries to tell us all how he remembers listening to "P.S.K." when the fucking song came out before he was a gleam in his daddy's eye. Fucking douchabags.

Word to this.

There is a reason I try to put niggas on to the mid-90's indie scene because that's what I grew up listening to. I hate frontin' ass niggas who think they know the deal about 80s hip hop when they were born in 1987 or 1988 or some shit.

Guys.....The shit has 3-4 BANGERS on it, for one. Secondly,Pubas flow and personality was waaaaay ahead of its time for 1985-86
