I bought WHICH DOOBIE U B and DOWN WITH THE KING on vinyl the day they were released. I've got to go with Run DMC. The album's sound was not cohesive since they used so many different producers, but it was their last great album. I hope Arista gives it a deluxe treatment re-release with demos, remixes, B-sides,etc. BACK FROM HELL also deserves the deluxe treatment, but not CROWN ROYAL. That album was pretty awful.

the Coup by a landslide imo.

the funkdoobiest joint and the masta ace are fun to go back to from time to time, Run DMC is all over the place.

slaughtahouse took me by surprise - such a departure from take a look around. solid album though and my pick of the lot. funkdoobiest was great but didn't have the replay value and as stated the run dmc was a schizophrenic release.

Slaughtahouse pisses all over these from a great height IMO. I think that Slaughtahouse and Sittin' On Chrome were quite ahead of their time when first released and are held in better regard now than they were back then.

The Coup hadn't yet perfected their sound which, in my opinion peaked, with the amazing Steal This Album.

Run DMC was ok but patchy.

Funkdoobiest had some great tracks but lacked the consistency of the Masta Ace album.

I disagree. While I still dig that record a lot, I think E-Rocc's departure left a pretty big gap. His chemistry with Boots really added to the first of those first two albums.

Funkdoobiest because I worked street promo for Immortal and Buzztone.

Damn I miss the 90s.

I went for The Coup as it's the album I'm most likely to bump these days of the 4.

Weirdly, it was the only one of those albums I didn't cop around the time of release, I wasn't really aware of them until I heard Dig It on a Wild Pitch compilation.

I rated Down With The King and Funkdoobiest back in the day but these days neither album does much for me.

Slaughtahouse is a really great album but for me The Coup are just a little more listenable and fresh.
