Anyone have any idea when were these Nas songs recorded?

Reminisce about the golden era of hip-hop.

While They Plot

This seems to be the official version that is floating around the net in its snippet form but there is also a full version with a completely different, and a much better if I might say, beat.Any info on the two versions would be appreciated

I'm asking because I'm trying to compile all of his featurings, non-album tracks and unreleased recordings (that are available online) by years and, for now, these are the tracks that I have no idea where to put.I know complete accuracy is impossible but any help would be appreciated

'It Wasnt You' came out on an official 12". Think the version you posted is off the Dirty Harry 'Legends' mix CD. Think it has a different beat as that CD was mainly blends. Guessing its from around 2005/06

thanks man, I have the track and the street dreams remix instrumental, so there's no need

So, I removed It Wasn't You from the original post since step cleared it up.

blackness was also removed because, according to this blog http://escobartheory.blogspot.com/2006/ ... eaven.html it was recorded in 1999

If it's not a problem, I'll be updating the topic with the casual song (if I find such).Right now there are a couple but I'm trying to find info on them before I post them. One example is 'Two Seater', but given that it's produced by Swizz Beatz and its sound (reminiscent of Braveheart Party) I'd say it's 2001-2002

Once you get the compilation done you should definitely post it or send me a pm.

I'll def be uploading it.There is some pretty weak stuff on there but the majority is dope and it's nice to have it categorized

I'm up to 2005 right now and have a handful of tracks that need to be identified by years

Updated the first post, again.Roughly, those are the songs that I can't place right now and I have to cover 2008 and 2009 and the compiled tracks will be ready for upload

EDIT:and yeah step one, I would really appreciate the It Wasn't You track since all the versions I find are the Dirty Harry mixes

The first post has been edited for the last time since I tink I got a hold of everything to finish the compilation (minus the Bravehearted 2 featurings [if there are any] but I still haven't checked if it's official or not).

Again, any info on the songs from the first post would be appeciated and I'm going to start uploading the compilation in the next few days

High was on a Statik Selektah mixtape ('The Prophecy' I think) around the time of Streets Disciple. So I'm guessing it was recorded sometime around 2003-2004.

thanks man, and yeah, to me Nas' catalogue is really solid as a whole but it's in the unreleased material like High, Triple Threat, Hardest Thing To Do Is Stay Alive (also You Don't Know Me, almost the same beat but different lyrics), A Few Good Niggas and some of his many features where the true potential of the catalogue lays.

And thanks for the info, High does indeed sound like it could be from the original I Am recordings and Da Don does have that Stillmatic flow of his.And I'm almost positive I've heard him use that "lean with the force of a Porsche" line before
