Roc Raida died?

Sorry for making this thread but since a couple of hours ago i'm reading on twitters and myspace blogs that word is going around that Roc Raida died due to surgery complications. Everybody gone crazy on twitter and almost everywhere saying "RIP ROC RAIDA" and shit like that. Please someone deny this rumor! I hope this is not true.

Who spread the word? Maybe someone wanted to do a stupid joke and spread the word around. I won't believe this until a official statement is made or at least a well known artist will say "yes, sadly, it's true".

Holy shit. Awful news. Roc Raida was my #1 favorite dj for a good 15 years, and seemed like a really good dude with a great sense of humor. R.I.P.

Below is the official word from Roc Raida's family.

"Anthony Williams p/k to the world as The Legendary Grandmaster Roc Raida has passed away unexpectedly today September 19 2009. He is survived by his wife, three lovely daughters, mother and friends. Raida was recently in an mixed martial arts accident, something that he has been practicing for several years. Although he had under gone two surgeries with great success, was released to an inpatient physical therapy facility and was in great spirits the past few days. This morning he started to have complications and passed. The family asks for privacy at this time."

this is unreal. turntablism lost a true icon. raida was one of my main inspirations to get into DJing. Raida's Theme is still one of my favorite songs.

Almost dropped a tear when i discovered the news....To me, the best of the X-me, regarding to the skills, brother was clearly better than Swift, crushed Eclipse plus seemed to be such a funny and sweet guy....The only one to produce, and such a musical opening....
Big big loss for our culture.
Damn, so pissed off at all the good ones leaving us since a year (Jax, Prizm, Baatin and now Raida). I'm off to bed, i'm fukin sad
