Stones.

I used to play the fuck out of these albums back in Jr High and my freshman and sophmore year of HS. Now The Doors just seem really overrated to me.

Would've voted for "Exile.." or "Let It Bleed" over the debut by The Doors but the sheer sillyness of Morrison > Jagger 'n' keef.

Vote : The Doors.

ARGHLENE votes the same way.

It isn't in the tourney. The Beatles weren't influential and never made any good music, according to the board. Neither did Bruce Springsteen.

Calm down you bitches.

There's gonna be 32 more albums, more than likely a beatles album will be picked.

Pretty painless choice all things considered: Sticky Fingers.

Sister Morphine is the heroin withdrawal anthem.

Like a fair amount of 60's music, these groups are best appreciated on a song by song basis though. There's filler on both of these.

Any Rolling Stones album would have done fine here.

I would've voted Exile over The Door's S/T, but not Sticky Fingers.

Rolling stones only got a couple albums that could fuck with the Lizard King and company debut here. Exile and Let it bleed being those two albums.

I just fired up WinAmp and threw on this album.

I forgot about this jewel

You men eat your dinner..
Eat your pork and beans..
I'll eat more chicken any man ever seen..

Willie Dixon made it sound like he gets a lot of sex because men are afraid to eat some pussy. Jimbo, slurred voice and all, made it sound like he was drunk and high and had the munchies.

But we all know Brian Boitano eats more chicken than the two of 'em combined.

Hmm?

Paint It Black and Under My Thumb are their two best songs. The album cuts are inventive and original. Mothers Little Helper and Lady Jane are the fucking shit. Its the best line up. The first album written entirely by Mick and Keith. Its early enough in their careers that they were still fresh sounding and hadnt figured out how to simply throw 13 singles on a piece of wax and sell a billion copies. The US release is the perfect length. Going Home was the first time a straight up jam song was included on charting rock album.

Laughable my ass.

Beggar's can be choosers

Post by blessingindisguise »

They took it back to basics on Beggar's Banquet though. Sympathy of the Devil and Street Fighting Man still get the old motherfuckers to rock and the younger peeps saying "this isn't half bad". Even though Brian Jones was wasting away his life on the blow Jagger and Richards came through on that album. I know I didn't say this one before but those 3 hold it down to me.

Arglene you cool as hell to me but Jim Morrison a faggot? I don't think so yo. Other then his pretentiousness, how he treated some folks, and use of the N word in a stupid insecure way I didn't have much beef with him. He was a good performer, great lyricist, but didn't have the best voice.

I can't believe you put between before beggars Blastmaster.

Ruby Tuesday, My Obsession, Cool, Calm and Collected > Sympathy For The Devil, Jumpin Jack Flash and Street Fighting Man.

The more experimental mood on BTB is pretty fun, while Beggars seems like a cop out in a return to a more R&B based sound. Plus Keith sings on Beggars, which is always a mistake.

c'mon now, half his lyrics are ponderously pretentious. doesn't take a genius to peddle pseudo mysticism to a bunch of acid heads

the veneration of morrison is a cult of personality phenomenon, he knew how to get the crowd going and he had an image that was very appealing at the time
