Screaming For Vengeance is the truth.

If you don't own it, fix that now.

I'm a bit wary of Will Haven being that they were on Revelation which stopped putting out good music right around 1991. Maybe I'll give it a try.

^^^ Will Haven were great. "El Diablo" is the truth and one of the great albums of the 90s. Kinda like equal parts Kiss It Goodbye and Neurosis.

And speaking of Kiss It Goodbye, don't front on them, Quicksand, Engine Kid and the Texas Is The Reason EP as stellar releases Revelation put out during the 90s.

Better Than A Thousand and Battery were also quality later Rev releases for those who dig that old school youth crew sound.

Yeah, I was exaggerating as I enjoy all those records you mentioned. But for every Statue album and Quicksand EP there was a Farside, Whirlpool, Damnation A.D., or Gameface record trying to drain your will to care about the record label that once put out in succession the Side By Side 7", The Way It Is comp, and the No For An Answer 7".

It's a love/hate relationship with Rev with hate being the main feeling in recent years.

Crimson is a concept album by Edge of Sanity telling a story in the distant future when human civilization is about to end.

Concept
The album tells the story of a world where humans can no longer beget children. Into this atmosphere of despair a child is born to the King and Queen of the barren Earth. The birth of the child takes the life of the Queen, and the King is left to rule the Earth and raise his daughter on his own. The people think the child is a sign that God will give them back the ability to give birth, but the child grows into a teenager and the humans still cannot reproduce. Then the king dies, and men fight over his throne, one eventually gaining it.

This new king crushes the rebellions against his illegitimate rule and is generally hated by the populace. Eventually they persuade the Child to lead an overthrow. She is left alone to plan, and then the forces of evil beckon to her. She accepts an unholy Master and gains powers. She slays the false king easily and begins ruling Earth. The people watch her intensely, because it was thought that by restoring the rightful ruler, they might be granted the gift of breeding. But the child (now the Queen) misleads the people, and slays the elders who the humans had preserved for their wisdom. Word of this gets out and a group of rebels gathers to stop her. They find a way to neutralize her power and then place her in the same preservative tank that the elders were kept in.

The content is weighty, and it uses archetypal devices and characters to create a rich and fulfilling story. It relies on repeating themes and reprises to convey emotions and suggest action. It goes from high to low and back again while following the arc of the story.
Perhaps Edge of Sanity's most lauded recording, Crimson is really a single 40-minute song/concept record that is perhaps one of the most interesting achievements in death metal ג€” a genre that generally doesn't lend itself to obscure pursuits. Generally, every death metal disc is conceptual in its single-minded focus on destruction (of life, God, art, ideas, and, especially, rock), but Crimson is different in that it delivers lyrical nuance and consistent musical themes from front to back. Often thought of as the essential Edge of Sanity disc, Crimson features the classic band lineup of Dan Swano on vocals, guitarists Dread and Sami Nerberg, Benny Larsson on drums, and Anders Lundberg on bass. Equal parts sprawling, orchestral epic and downright heavyweight slugfest, this "song" tears at many metal preconceptions. A challenging effort, Crimson is a must-have for all death metal fans.
