20. Chad Vangaalen "Mini TVs"
i did a cover of this song for coke machine glow and for good reason. this lanky dude made a totally unrewarded collection of wave your hands and say yeah numbers and nobody really bigged him up. he's a real canadian treasure, can you feel it? 'the chickadee sitting next to me/ says mini televisions hang like bats in the trees now', hot shit.

19. Junior Boys - In The Morning
jeremy greenspan starts this one with canadian mouth breathing exercises and makes a lament about ageism in the bedroom. story of my life! this song officially gets 30 year old women to get naked, which is probably the point.

17. Outkast - PJ & Rooster
biggest fuckup of 2006: not only are these two dudes completely out of step with each other creatively, but the label is out of step with them too. they are really fucking up by not releasing this as a single. this is the only song that accomplishes their (stupid) period piece goal while maintaining a forward-thinking stance. but whatever man, i'm just an electro rapper from canada, don't listen to me. big boi's verse with the barbershop accompaniment is perfect.

9. Lo-Fi-FNK - The End
they gave me one of their hats!!! nice guys, these dudes. this is the only daft punk inspired electro house song i've heard in years that is actually comparable to daft punk in quality level. too many people are so obviously influenced and while you have to think of a certain thing when you hear this song initially, it's obvious that the human element reigns supreme on this one.

8. The Federation - 18 Dummy
rick rock and the bay area hyphy movement have brought some really weird sounds into the hip hop pantheon. this one sounds kinda like glitch, kinda like M.I.A (with the bass repeated that way), kinda like snap music, but kinda ill, all around. the lyrics are so disassociated and weird. 18 dummy is practically performed in a different language and while i typically take issue with foreign films, i can really identify with this picture.

2. Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler
this song is a perfect dance record. so many shifts. the video is aimed directly at my demographic. i hate to say this, but this is a 'hip-hop influenced' track that works.

AND FINALLY...
1. Peter Bjorn And John "Young Folks"
hey fuck, calm down, guys. just because every girl you know loves this song doesn't mean it isn't a slice of timeless power-pop. no song has sounded like summer more than this one.

Never heard these songs, but very interested.

Just got around to seeing this thread, and I'm getting errors in downloading the final 20. Sendspace provides a new link, but it loops and keeps going back to the same page without letting me download it.

Re-up please? Looks like a great list.

PS. I've downloaded part 4 and 3 already with no problem.
