Which is what I was going to ask for as a substitute if you'd come up with a weak prize. Well done, I'm on it. Expect To See Many Posts Typed In This Fashion.

Wait, so that means we're letting the old juggernaut die? :owens:

WHATS BETTER THAN OLD?

MUST BE THE NEW

I say Bassline stays - its still huge here in the Midlands!

It only goes once bloggers invent 3 or 4 more genres so we no longer fit on the subject line.

Check out Hudson's Heaters. It's a promo-thing he did two years back. i think you can probably find most of the tracks off the Polyfolk EP on this.

i have been completely obsessed with hudson mohawke's remix of 'come get it' by yummy bingham for the past few weeks. doesn't get much better than that as far as teh wonk goes as far as i can see, it's fucking incredible. upload on the way when i am sober enough to see straight.

best running thread on :phila:, no contest

so in the first few months of this year i'm looking forward to:

durrty goodz - ultrasound
wiley - grimewave 2 / race against time (never actually gonna come out obv)
gemmy ep on planet mu
joker - digi design/jakataorwhatevertheirnameis - you don't know what love is
(just had to delete a huge rant about this but basically digi design is fucking perfect as far as i'm concerned and i really dare you to not feel like your heart/brain/groin is going to explode when that chorus melody drops)

oh and the new kryptic mindz 12" on loefah's new label. they were incredibly boring at dmz this time last week BUT 'one of us' is just amazing and probably the closest we'll get to loefah making any new music this year.

so annoyed by this. he seems to have stopped making music completely, which is sad since he was really on to something with that stripped sound he was doing (tracks like Asbo, the 50.000 Watts remx, etc.)

might be the wrong thread/forum.. but i figure it fits close enough

what's the best daedelus solo release? he has a lot of them out there.. and although he's not dubstep he's big in the la wonky/experimental/electronic/hip hop scene

"Exquisite Corpse" and his last one are his most accessible and best, I'd say. "Invention" is alright, it has the famous "Accordion" sample and some tracks that are borderline ambient. "A Gent Agent" is unlistenable and "Denies the days demise" is a giant Brazilian flavoured mess.

And while I really really like Hud Mo, Samiyam, Dorian Concept and Mike Slott, I'm still baffled at how many people that usually don't give a fuck about instrumental Hip Hop (and let's be honest, that's what they're essentially doing) are going apeshit over their stuff. It's not like Prefuse, Dilla and (the notoriously underrated) Dabrye never happened.

BTW, everybody into this should definitely check out Ras-G - Ghetto Sci Fi.

So obsessed with T++'s "Vansan" Remix and the Geiomix of "The branch is weak" right now. Perfect fusion of minimal and dubstep. I'm gonna miss Skull Disco

Co-sign the Starkey album

Distance - Repercussions was a little boring

The Skull Disco 2CD was excellent.

Headhunter's album was good.

Ital Tek "Cyclical"was pretty slept-on.

A tune that was missing in ack's mix that is absolutely incredible and that would make my personal Dubstep Top 3 is this:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2En93fR_09w&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2En93fR_09w&hl=de&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I only have the 12" but I'm pretty sure skurdur hooked it up in the old thread, if you're looking for an mp3.
