So Dude finally hit me back and said he would try to dig up a copy. When he gets back to me again I'll throw it up. Dude made the Peter Tosh Doc "Stepping Razor Red X" which is a fucking DOPE documentary. But NOTHING on that first record. Rockstone everywhere but no first album. I sent him an e-mail.drizzle wrote:yeah, as you can imagine googling Native - Native isn't very helpfulSeen? wrote:You are still looking for that? .
i did some research on the band, some interesting stuff turns up about them being one of the first bands to heavily feature a rock influence. apparently the dude has also been kinda prolific behind the scenes too.

Chukki Starr-G.Y.L. Lemme know if you have any problems...it took a couple of times to unzip, but I think it's just my problem. I have another to upload if you don't like this one or it doesn't work, but it should.

As far as I'm concerned, reggae is a great remedy for winter chills with or without weed. I'd like to hear some more Johnny Osbourne albums if anybody is still taking requests.Seen? wrote: Any Requests?...I'll be checking this about once a week. Whaddup Versive? What kind of J. O. do you like? I prefer his roots stuff and don't really get into his "Lovers Rock" type shit or anyone else's (John Holt) but I can dig some stuff up. Try this one out.
Johnny Osbourne and friends-"Ready or not"

http://www.zshare.net/download/1936865174be3a5c/
This one is pretty Ill...not all J.O.-got some Prince Far I and Max Romeo which is far from a bad thing...and check the sample from "ready or not" which is a cover of the delfonics joint...both used for a lot of hip hop shit.
And btw I know it's been a while since I bugged the "Native" guy (a Rodigan? I can't remember) but he failed on me...I'll hit him up again...he said he would be down with putting up the album but needed to get a copy uploaded so....... That's the last I heard from dude. I'll bug him again...I would really like to hear what that record sounds like. I have acquired so much reggae vinyl, cd, tape, mp3, but I have never heard (or heard of) that record. It's like a recon mission finding that bitch. As we have said before googling "Native Native" doesn't help much. Anyone have any luck? Drizzle?
Anyway enjoy the Johnny O. Any other requests I'll hunt down or have in my HD.

Seen, all I had was Truth and Rights - got it here. Thanks for this. I've been into Bob Marley, Linton Kwesi Johnson, and a few others for a minute, but hadn't gotten as heavily into all these other artists until last year I guess. Must admit, this thread has put me onto many great artists.
Thanks again to everybody.
Thanks again to everybody.

if you're going for dub i'd say go for full albums over individual tracks. while there are definitely standout single dubplates and versions out there, a lot of it fares better in bulk imo. it works best when it has a chance to put you into a kind of trance, that's hard to achieve in 3-4 mins

And speedballs and a crack chaser. ...I mean, duh. Isn't dub supposed to get you in the mood to go out and kill 4 or 5 people? ...Yay!
