Post by Random Sample »

Some of them are specific, others are time periods that I would have liked to see groups play.

1. Jimi Hendrix - Montreaux 1967
2. Bad Brains - NY 1982
3. Nina Simone - Paris 1969
4. Black Flag - LA 1982
5. Miles Davis & Thelonius Monk- Newport 1958
6. Pink Floyd - Pompeii 1972
7. Black Sabbath - UK 1969
8. Herbie Mann - Live at the Village Gate 1961
9. Run DMC & Beastie Boys - Raising Hell Tour 1985
10. Wu Tang Clan - NY 1993

Black Flag - 1982
Minor Threat - 1981
Slayer - 1986
David Bowie - 70-73
the Misfits - anytime with Glen, shit, if they all got back together now with Glen
Led Zeppelin - 1975
T Rex - 1972
MC5- 1970
Stooges - 1973
The Clash - 1981

Being a little older, I did get to see a lot of bands in their prime. Metallica 88 and 89, Beastie Boys on the Licensed to Ill tour and a bunch of other bands you probably don't care about when they were relevant.

just saw bad brains last month - was about five to seven rows back in the middle of the mosh pit with my gf who is about a buck ten; lemme tell you, shit was the most ill advised decision i've ever made. not only was i unfamiliar with bad brains prior to seeing them, i thought they were a laid back reggae band :megaman:

wu tang came on after them - i managed to get to the 2nd row when they came out. between watching my girl who did pretty well to hold her own, breaking up fights b/w my girl and other girls, d-bags constantly rushing the front every 2 seconds, avoiding kicks to the face cuz of crowd surfers and of course threatening fanboy's that were putting everyone around them in danger b/c they were fighting over shit thrown into the crowd, shit was still a fucking blast.

bad brains + wu tang = a helluva work out

Yeah, these were great.

Pretty sure it was the Together Forever tour though.

I saw the Beastie Boys with Fishbone and Murphy's Law the first time in 1986. The first time I saw Slayer was at the 1989 Florida State Fair and it blew my sock off. I got to see Metallica on the And Justice Tour and it still is one of my favorite shows ever.

Bad Brains I saw2 in 87, the first punk rock show I saw ever. Lots of burly Hammerskin types looking to be tough and kick Bad Brains ass. So Bad Brains starts out with a half hour of reggae. My friends brother was a few years older than us and refused to go without seeing the fast shit. Slowly, all the white power fuckers left because they only could heckle for so long. When the third reggae jam started, everybody left pretty much had hair. First fast song was the Big Take Over, HR did a somersault into the crowd and I was sold on the whole fuckin thing shortly there after.
