The Magnetic Field - 69 Love Songs

Post by GM Dizzy Skillespie »

What are your thoughts on this triple disc album?

I'm pretty much in love with it and its concept.
I'm mostly fond of the playful songs, but there are some serious ones that are dope as well.

I find it amazing that there are bands out there that will have an album with 12 songs about love and it can be uber-annoying to the point of making want to vomit while listening to punk.

but the magnetic field can release 69 consequetive love songs and while I really can't do it all in one sitting because i don't have that kind of time, when I do it listen for an extended time... I'm always delighted.

Favorites:
"Papa Was a Rodeo"
"Absolutely Cuckoo"
"The Cactus Where Your Heart Should Be"
"A Pretty Girl is Like"
"Crazy For You, But Not That Crazy"

among a dozen others.

as an album overall I never listen to it, but I slimed it down to one 12-track album that I really like. Favorite song is "I think I need a new heart". I think Holiday is a much better album though. Also you should check out Jens Lekman, he's got a very similar sound.

Took me awhile to get into because it's 3 discs long, but when I finally did I wasn't let down. I would up it right now, but that's a lot of music. If a few more people would like to check it out, I would have no problem uploading all three discs.
