New album Death Is This Communion drops Sept 18th.

Tour kicks off two days later. Tix are going on sale for a lot of locations this/next week. NY on-sale date is Friday. I'll definitely be catching that show.

I don't know if I think they're the best band out there, but I do think Blessed Black Wings is better than any Mastodon album.

Yeah I think Blessed Black Wings is better than any Mastodon album too. I like Mastodon better as a band, because every track they make has the potential to be mindblowing, but as an album Bless Black Wings just feels alot more cohesive and solid. I can rarely listen through an entire Mastodon album. I think Mastodon's bright spots as far as songs far outshine High on Fire's though.

It's hard to get a gauge on how good the new song is from that link, but it sounds like it's in line with what I was expecting
