There's this guy I work with. His name is Tim, but in my head, I call him Masked Terror #3. He's 40 years old, as big as a Yarus with jet black hair and bugged eyes, loves drugs, young easy women, XBox and usually listens to semi-obscure shit like Great Britain Hardcore and Diamond Head and thrash/heavy metal. He has the only radio at work, and from 5:30 til 8 when we open, he blasts whatever he feels like. Most people groan, but I'm one of the few who digs whatever he plays.
Today, he had on this one song that had this super catchy sound to it. Next trip to the coffee bar, I walked up to his counter to ask what it was. It turned out to be the fuckin' B-52s and a song called Lobster Rock. I was like, "NO WAI!! The Love Shack people?!" He was like, "Listen kid.. this album is probably older than you and came out a decade before they took the REM road and made shitty pop music." (It turns out we're both from 1979, though).

So, I googled around and found all their old albums on a blog. He recommended the first two albums. So, I'll be grabbing 'em. Figured I'd throw up the link in case anybody else is interested.
Did you know the B-52s did more than Love Shack? I didn't. It's fresh to discover music that's new to me but old to the world.
So... The B-52s did more than just Love Shack.
