I've never heard Velvet Underground, but since Pet Sounds is the most overrated album of all time...

This was a pretty easy choice for me. Velvet Underground.

Both these albums are overrated but have a couple of stunning songs each.
Picked the Velvets since i'd rather listen to "Venus In Furs" over "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" and because Nico was fine as fuck whereas all of the Beach Boys were yokel dudes with bowl-head hairdoos.
Vote : VU & Nico.

I like Loaded better than both of these albums.
"Sweet Jane" and "Rock and Roll" > most singles from the 60s and 70s.

I really enjoy Pet Sounds
but I went through a VU obsession for awhile, their early work just fucks my head up in the best way possible
gotta go with the Velvets
Brian Wilson can't fuck with John Cale

Neither of these albums are overrated. Pet Sounds lush harmonies and orch arrangements influenced countless bands. While Velvet Underground's poignant songwriting, grim subject matter and experimental sound influenced many. That said i'm going with Brian Wilson's Pet Sounds.
