RIP Michael Brecker

Post by BIG GONZO »

Passed on sunday very close to Alice Coltrane.
Hmm..

Brecker was a musical giant who played in as many settings as possible and was consistantly good. He was definatly commercial, but many people underestimate him as well. He could play his ass off. The recent album "Saxophone Summit" w/Lovano and Liebman was amazing to say the least. He has a new one coming out soon w/ jack dejohnnette, herbie, metheney etc.
RIP Michael Brecker.

Yeah, I was going to mention this as well. Michael Brecker was well respected and had a hand in a number of great records.

Rest in peace.
