I know very little of their music, but I like what I've heard. Better than most indie faggot shit.

That new album is the best album of the year. I don't like their old stuff as much though...

Thought the album was good when it dropped. Thought the press was a little too happy about it. Listened to it more. Liked it less. A lot of the album seems like a real mess. Now that I've actually purchased the damn thing, I read the lyrics I didn't understand. Like the album a little more now. Definitely something very grabbing about it.

Still, nothing touches either "Hours" or "Wolf Like Me". "Wolf Like Me" basically gets me amped enough to tackle a grizzly bear.

Wow. I heard some of their shit before and it didn't really click, but holy shit did they throw down. It's nice to see a bigger "indie" band with some energy and passion for once. I'm gonna go pick up that Return To Cookie Mountain album based solely on seeing this performance.

their first EP is totally stunning

the song 'blind' is chilling and their gospel cover of 'mr. grieves' by the pixies is really well done

agreed... don't short young liars
and i prefer that version of "staring at the sun" because of the little intro

i was a fan of the old young liars EP with "waiting for the sun"
which was the best song of 2004 (damn i think it was '04)

desperate youths was kind of boring

and then this cookie mountain comes along, and it took me about 12 listens to fully appreciate it, but now i think it's great.

I want to co-sign this. I was in a state of bliss upon hearing Young Liars in its entirety for the first time on Saturday night. Good god... Stunning, as you said.
